Finding ways to experience joy is so important as you move through this life. In this meditation, I guide you through a meditation using visualization and mantras to cultivate a feeling of joy you can hold on to.

Allow yourself to settle in a comfortable position and close your eyes.

Taking a couple of deep breaths and just feel the weight fall off of your body.

As you take a few moments to focus on your breath here,

Just feel yourself begin to arrive in a state of awareness.

Check in with yourself here in this moment.

How do you feel?

How does your body feel?

How is your mind today?

Just allow yourself to be here and now,

Releasing any judgment or preconceived notions about joy and just allow yourself to experience this moment fully without expectation.

As you begin to deepen the breath,

Notice the energy begin to lift.

Notice the life force,

Prana,

Chi,

Energy begin to move throughout your body.

How is your overall vibration today?

As you observe this subtle current moving through your being,

Notice it begin to rise.

Like a tuning fork that has been struck,

Notice the strong vibration beginning to shift.

Repeat this mantra quietly to yourself.

I give myself permission to experience joy.

I give myself permission to experience joy.

Take a few moments here to continue repeating that mantra in your mind.

I give myself permission to experience joy.

Allow this feeling of joy begin to fill your entire body,

Mind,

And soul.

Perhaps you recall a moment when you were in a place of joy.

Maybe it was a specific event,

Birthday,

Or holiday.

Maybe it was when you were with a loved one.

Maybe a vacation or weekend getaway.

Whatever it may be,

Select one time and begin to recall that moment.

Visualize yourself in that exact place and time.

As you stand there watching yourself in this place of joy,

Become aware of what things or people are all around you.

What was the setting?

What was the temperature like?

How was the energy in the space?

How do you feel?

As you recall that feeling of joy,

Notice how full you are.

As you allow your mind to leave that specific moment,

Hold onto that feeling of joy and feel it in this very moment.

Notice your breath in this place and time and allow yourself to focus on this feeling of joy.

Feel it envelop you.

See it as the sun finally peeking from behind the clouds to shine its warmth on your face.

Bask in the rays of this joy.

Now check back in with yourself in this moment.

How do you feel?

How does your body feel?

How is your mind?

As you stay connected with your breath,

Breathe in this mantra,

I am,

And release out full of joy.

Inhaling I am and exhaling full of joy.

Imagine all of the ways experiencing joy can shift your life,

Your personal life,

Your finances,

Your views of your workplace.

Now holding onto this feeling of joy as you continue on with your day,

Find things in your everyday life that can bring you to this exact feeling.

Take a slow deep breath in through your nose and gently release it out of your mouth.

And when you are ready,

Slowly blink the eyes open and continue on with your day.

I felt the joy in the memory I was focused on but in front of it was pain. This was a difficult meditation for me today. I hope one day I can truly experience joy again once I am healed and listen to this meditation and experience it with this beautiful memory without the pain in front of it. A wonderful way to start the day when you have been feeling underwhelmed, uninspired and lacking joy in your life. In doing this meditation I realized I need to take time to reflect on the many moments of joy that I’ve had with family and loved ones and never forget how blessed my life has been.. and shine that inner light and joy into my here and now to bring about a bright and hopeful existence.
