So let's begin.
And find a position for your body that can be still,
Whatever that is for you.
Seated or lying down.
If you can,
You can let your eyes close,
But if you can't close your eyes,
Just soften your gaze.
Relax the muscles around the eyes.
And take one breath that's a little deeper than normal.
And let it go with a small sigh maybe.
Ah.
Letting the weight of the body be released against the surface.
Bring your attention to your feet.
Or maybe anywhere in the body.
That's touching the floor or the surface right now.
And notice that contact.
Not to change it,
Not to analyze it,
Just to notice.
How it feels to be in contact with the earth.
With a car,
With a bed.
And now let your attention travel slowly upward through the ankles.
Leg.
Low back.
Chest.
Arms.
Face.
We are not scanning the body to find any problem,
Just to arrive in the body.
And just letting your awareness live in your body.
Instead of in your thoughts,
Just for a few moments.
For the purpose of this exercise,
I would like for you to call a memory.
A small memory of a moment when you had a knowing or you felt a hunch or a pull that turned out to be right.
It doesn't need to be dramatic.
Maybe just sensing someone wasn't being honest.
And you didn't even have proof of this.
You just felt it.
And let yourself go back to that memory,
To that moment.
But instead of replaying the story.
Try and drop your awareness underneath the story.
By asking yourself.
Where did I feel this in my body?
Right before I had proof of anything.
Where did I feel that something was not right or that something was not the way that I imagined it?
Where did you feel that?
Whatever you notice,
Even if you're not fully sure.
That sensation is your starting point.
It may not show up the same way.
Every time.
But that's your start.
And I want you to see if you can assign a name to that feeling.
Or if a name naturally comes to you that you feel comfortable with.
One word that fits the feeling.
Some people call it a click.
Or a nudge.
Or unknowing.
A hunch,
A pull,
Anything that feels right for your particular way of experiencing this feeling.
There's no correct answer or no wrong answers,
Just let that word arrive.
And say what I felt was this.
And say the word and see if it fits for you.
Now just begin to widen your attention back out to the room or the space that you're in.
And hear the first sound.
Now that you're aware of your surroundings.
And feel the temperature of the air where you are right now.
And again,
Feel the surface underneath you.
And whenever you're ready,
Let your eyes open if they were closed.
And now you have a word,
A name to call your feeling of intuition.
It's small,
But it's yours.
And it will get clearer and more clear every day.
That you cultivated.
