Dear friends.
Here is an evening gratitude reflection for Sunday.
It's the fourth of a series of seven.
Intended to remind you day after day.
Of the joys of life.
First of all,
An invitation to you to become present.
So make sure you're sitting comfortably.
And relax.
This is your time.
Make sure your back is reasonably straight,
But not rigid.
What we're looking for is a type of alert posture.
Your eyes can be opened or closed,
Whichever suits,
Whichever is comfortable.
The most important thing.
Is that you just relax and be here.
Next,
I'd like you to draw your attention to your breathing.
Just not as you're breathing in.
And you're breathing out.
The bread is always with you.
And it's an opportunity to be present whenever you need to come back to the present moment.
And now,
Some gratitude reflections at the end of this unique day.
I'm grateful for the breath that greeted me this morning.
And that accompanied me throughout this day.
I'm grateful for the mystery of my own existence.
Were the impossible-to-calculate odds against my being here.
I'm grateful for my body.
My body that experiences the beauty of this world.
The gift of consciousness.
That allows me to take in some of this wonder.
I'm grateful for my heartbeat.
That accompanies my every moment.
I'm grateful for the light that falls on the earth each day.
From a zone that is just the right distance away.
I'm grateful for the magic of a starlit sky at night.
I'm grateful for the beauty hidden in everyday surroundings.
I'm grateful for the seasons.
They remind me that change is natural.
And necessary.
Nothing to be feared.
I am grateful for the colors of dawn.
And the birdsong that greets every new day.
May I never take the gifts of my life for granted.
May I ever remember to say thank you and thank you.
Again and again and again.
Namaste.
