By letting go of whatever is bothering us, we set ourselves free and get to reclaim that energy back for ourselves. Worry doesn't change the outcome. What will be, will be. Reclaim your energy to respond instead of worry.

Anxiety is often related to rumination,

Thinking the same thoughts over and over again,

Or even obsessive thinking.

Consume this anxiety by teaching us how to kindly distance ourselves from our thoughts.

We don't have to believe everything we think.

Practice letting go of thoughts with this mindful exercise.

Let go of thoughts and let go of anxiety.

Sit up tall in a quiet place where you can be free from distractions.

Breathe slowly and evenly in and out through your nose.

Let your energy settle by anchoring your attention to your breath.

Open your shoulders,

Belly,

And thigh.

And watch your breath with a sense of loving awe.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Feel the gentle rise and fall of the body as the body breathes itself.

And let yourself fall into a state of being rather than a state of doing.

Right here and right now,

Just be present with your breath.

As you watch your breath,

Of course,

Thoughts will arise.

The mind is energy and is always at play.

Today as you notice these thoughts,

Watch them as if you're watching from a distance.

You are not your thoughts,

But just a witness of these thoughts.

This can help you visualize your thoughts as if they were clouds or bubbles.

As a thought arises,

It floats up into our awareness.

And then if left alone,

It will float away or burst.

Stay anchored to your breath as you play with the awareness of this process.

Present with your breath,

But aware of the thought clouds or thought bubbles that arise.

Like clouds or bubbles,

Understand that these thoughts are not solid.

They are not fixed.

They take shape and they break apart.

They're continuously changing shape,

Blown by the wind.

Thoughts coming and thoughts going.

We cannot grasp a cloud or a bubble,

And neither is there a point of grasping these thoughts.

So simply let them be.

Be aware of your breath as your thoughts do their thing.

Avoid chasing,

Following,

Or attaching yourself to the thought.

Avoid trying to stop the thoughts or push them away.

Be aware of your breath,

Aware that this is a state of being and not doing.

Aware of your thoughts,

But not thinking on them.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Just lovingly allowing your thoughts to shift,

To change,

Or to flow.

There's nothing to fight against and there's nothing to stop.

Love your thoughts and at the same time,

Let them go.

Staying present right here and right now with your breath.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Remember you are not your thoughts,

But their witness.

Look upon each thought with curiosity or awe,

But again and again,

Anchor back to your breath.

Breath awareness,

Being present with your breath.

The mind is energy and energy is always at play,

But it's up to you to choose the type of energy you want to invite in and simply let go of the rest.

Breathe in and breathe out,

Identifying with the energy of stability,

Even breath,

Steadiness,

Peacefulness,

And ease.

Go in peace.

Thank you for this meditation! I came across your meditation just now in New Zealand where I’ve been living for 7 years and saw you are from Omaha Nebraska; that is where I was born and raised! Gretna- what a small world.

Thank you; it really helped a lot. Today, I had been caught up in my thoughts due to stress, pressure, regret, and embarrassment. It was a soothing experience, like ice on my wounds.

Excellent! Very helpful for ruminating, obsessing, attaching to, or believing habitual recycled thoughts. Good for any experience level of meditation. I found it effective, soft ocean background sounds help anchor the breath. Detaching from being the thinker of the thoughts that arise; to be the observer of the thought-clouds that arise, take shape, change and disappear. It's the nature of the mind to think, materialize and dissappear. The mind is energy, which is not static but always changing, transforming.

Isn’t it funny how sometimes something finally clicks. “Love your thoughts then let them go”. Thank you for that.

Your voice is a soothing element in this recording. When I'm really listening, I need some time to process what is being expressed. I appreciate the unhurried pacing. Finally, the wording was very clean and uncluttered. I find that I do better with mindfully chosen speech. So thank you, thank you, and thank you. This was very helpful to me.
