
Healing The Physical And Emotional Self
This is a guided relaxation that leads you through a relaxation followed by a body scan of the physical and then the emotional to identify areas that are in need of healing work and then to guide you through this healing using imagery and energy.
Transcript
To start,
Seat yourself in a comfortable position and allow your eyes to gently close.
Let's take a deep breath in through the nose,
Breathing all the way down into the stomach,
Feeling the stomach expand.
Hold for a moment and then slowly release the breath.
Very good.
Let's repeat that cycle of breathing a few more times.
Taking a deep,
Slow breath and bringing it all the way down to the toes.
Breathing for a moment and then slowly release the breath.
Nice work.
One more time.
Pull in a nice even breath and bring it down deep into the body.
Hold for a moment and then slowly release the breath.
Take a moment to appreciate the way this feels as the body begins to relax.
All the tension that the body so commonly holds melts away.
In this moment that is all yours,
Where nobody needs anything from you.
Nobody wants anything from you.
Time enough for that later.
Now I would like for you to imagine that you are surrounded by a pool of light,
A pool of light in your very favorite color.
This pool of light completely surrounds your body,
Cocooning it in peace and warmth,
Feeling so completely safe and secure.
The light slowly begins to infuse your body,
Starting at the top of the head and as it moves through the body,
It touches every cell in your body.
And with each cell that it touches,
It eases every ounce of tension,
Erases every sensation of pain,
Absorbs all traces of negativity.
It slowly moves through the head,
Both inside and outside,
Moves down the forehead,
The nose,
The ears,
The nose,
And the mouth,
As well as the back of the head.
Tensions and pains are released,
Some that you did not even know that you have.
And then it moves down to the neck,
Releasing every cell,
Every muscle relaxing as the neck and throat release,
Surrendering any pain,
Tension,
Or tightness to the light.
Down through the shoulders,
The light moves and the shoulders unwind.
You feel the shoulders shrug down as if a weight has been lifted from them as you relax more and more deeply.
The light moves down both arms,
All the way down to the tips of the fingers,
The hands and arms fully relaxed,
No reason for them to be engaged at all.
They are not needed right now and can take a much needed break.
Feel the light move into the back,
All the way down the spine,
Infusing every cell,
Nothing left to the back to hold on to,
Every pain fades away,
Every speck of tension is released.
The light and warmth moves into the chest as well,
Spreading out through the chest and lungs,
Filling them with light,
Releasing all tension,
All stress fades away.
So often we hold tension in the chest and you feel immediately calmer as the light eases all of that tension away.
You feel that space in your chest around the heart swell with a feeling of love as the light moves through.
And onto the stomach where the light fills every organ,
Every muscle,
Every cell,
Releasing negative emotions,
Easing tension,
Soothing pain.
We can all wait until later anyway.
Take this time that is all yours to take a well-deserved break from all of that.
The light moves down into the hips,
Warming the hips,
The bones and muscles.
So much tension can be held in the hips and it may feel strange at first as the tension drifts away,
But it quickly feels very good to feel so light and so relaxed.
The light moves down both legs all the way down to the feet,
To the tips of all 10 toes,
Covering the soles of your feet.
Very good.
Your body is completely filled with light,
Surrounded by light,
And it feels very,
Very good.
You are so relaxed,
You may feel like you are floating or your body may be pleasantly heavy as if you are wrapped in a soft,
Heavy blanket.
Such a pleasant feeling to be so completely relaxed.
And now that your body is relaxed,
You feel your mind begin to relax as well.
Just slow down and drift away.
As the body takes a break,
So can the mind.
Nothing needs your attention or your focus right now.
Your mind is free to rest,
Relax,
And wander.
You can take this time to be still.
Allow yourself to drift with this feeling for a time,
Enjoying the feeling,
Allowing your body to memorize and remember what it feels like to be so thoroughly relaxed.
The more often you practice relaxation,
The more familiar you become with the feeling and the easier it is to achieve this level of peace whenever you wish to,
Even all the time.
And now with every breath you take,
You feel yourself relax more and more deeply.
And you know it is time to do some important healing work for yourself.
You are ready to feel better,
To be healed,
To move forward with your life and enjoy yourself more and more each day.
You do not need to be concerned with falling along to every word that I speak.
Even though you may find that your mind wanders at times,
Your subconscious mind is listening.
Because right now nothing else matters except this wonderful feeling of relaxation that you are experiencing.
Right now there's not a care in the world,
Nothing at all for you to do but relax and let go.
So relax and let go and enjoy these feelings of peace and relaxation.
Any worries or concerns will be waiting for you when you're ready to return to them.
In a moment I'm going to ask you to visualize certain things and you will find that doing so helps you relax even more deeply.
Even if you cannot clearly see everything I describe,
You will still have a general sense of what is being talked about.
So I would like you to imagine yourself,
The way you look to yourself right now.
Picture your whole body as if you're standing right in front of yourself.
You may not usually like the way you look or like to look at yourself but you find that you can put judgment aside for this short time and look at yourself while remaining calm and relaxed.
Very good.
You will also find that as you observe yourself,
You can begin to see any issues or ailments that are present right now in your body.
This is in a non-judgmental way,
Not looking for things that you would like to improve or unhappy with on the outside but rather in your mind's eye using your wonderful and creative imagination,
You can see the issues and wounds that are bothering the body at this time.
Even ones that are deep within the body or that you are not even aware of,
These wounds will appear to you in many ways.
They may look like cuts,
Burns,
Lacerations or more likely your imagination will be at work showing them to you more interesting and unique ways but whatever you see is perfectly alright.
So starting with the head,
We will slowly work our way down through the whole body healing and repairing each issue we come across.
You will find that you know exactly how to repair anything and everything that is wrong with the body.
You can stitch up cuts,
You can ease pain,
You can remove anything from the body that has no place there any longer.
Take your time now to work on each issue that is present in the body while I am silent for a moment or two.
Very good.
Notice how the body feels now that it is being healed.
Notice how you feel about yourself that you are a part of this amazing work and took the time to listen to and heal your body.
Take a closer look at the you that you see standing there in front of you fully healed of all physical issues.
Is the expression on the face different as you look at the body?
Is the posture or coloring of the skin different?
Take a moment to enjoy that feeling of health and vitality.
Now as you continue to observe your body,
You begin to realize that there is another layer that is in need of your attention.
A few inches out from your physical body,
Your emotional body is present.
And though it is not as substantial as your physical body is,
You find you can see it very clearly right now.
And as you observe your emotional body,
You begin to become aware of wounds,
Issues,
Ailments that are affecting you at the emotional level.
And as you become aware of them,
You know that you can heal them just as you healed your physical body a moment ago.
Just as you did before,
We're going to start at the top of the head and work our way down.
Take some time to address each and every issue that you discover within the emotional body.
Once again,
You'll find that all the tools you need are right there.
You'll use your creative imagination to take care of any and all ailments.
Now be silent for a moment or two while you do this important work.
Very good.
You are healing your emotional body,
Repairing any and all wounds.
And as you do so,
You notice how much better you are feeling.
You feel so much happier,
So much lighter,
And more excited to be alive.
As you finish with everything you have observed with your emotional body,
You are feeling wonderful.
There's one more step for you to do today,
And you begin to infuse both your physical and emotional body with healing light.
The light begins at the top of the head and slowly moves down through the body,
Infusing every cell with calming,
Healing light,
All the way down to the feet,
And then expands out,
Filling the emotional body and the space all around you.
This light helps aid and speed all the wonderful healing work you do today,
And it helps protect the body from anything that may occur in the future.
As the light expands,
It can even keep going to fill up the room you are in,
The building you are in.
It can expand out to the whole city you live in,
The whole state,
The whole country,
And then the whole world,
And be infused with this healing,
Calming light.
Turning back in to your body once more,
You notice how amazing you feel,
So relaxed,
So comfortable,
So full of energy.
These feelings will not only remain with you as you go about your day,
They will grow stronger.
They will grow stronger by the day,
Stronger by the hour,
Stronger by the minute,
And you know that you can continue this important work with your physical and emotional body whenever you have need.
In a moment,
I will count the numbers from one to five,
And on the count of five,
You will be wide awake,
Bringing with you these feelings of peace,
Contentment,
And health.
One,
Two,
Three,
Coming back slowly,
Four,
Feeling your eyelids begin to flutter,
And five,
Eyes open,
Mind and body fully returned.
