Hey it's Cyrus.
Today we're gonna work on being unconditionally loving and we're gonna start with ourselves because once we can do that it comes pretty naturally with others.
I invite you to start by thinking about some quality or part of yourself that you don't fully accept.
Nothing overwhelming,
Nothing that's gonna bring up super strong emotions,
Just something that kind of bothers you about yourself.
As you improve at this skill you might choose to use this track to build your way up to bigger things but for now just start small and set the intention that you're gonna show some unconditional love towards that part of yourself.
Maybe you don't know how,
Maybe it doesn't seem possible,
But just set that intention anyway if you want to dive into this session.
Okay so once you've decided that,
Close your eyes,
Get into a comfortable position and take a big slow deep breath into your body and as you breathe into the body start to become aware of the energy in your body and as you exhale out through the mouth feel any excess stress or tension flowing out with the breath.
Let's do one more like that but really commit,
Really make it a strong powerful deep breath breathing into the whole body all the way down to your toes nice and slow and exhaling slowly out through the mouth letting go of any tension on the way out and start to become aware of that part or quality about yourself that you've chosen you don't yet fully accept or love.
It might come as a sentence or an image or a feeling in your body or any combination thereof.
Don't judge how that awareness arises,
Just notice.
And don't react to it too much,
Just let it be there,
Just observe it as it is for a moment.
Almost like it's a quality or part that belongs to someone else and you're just viewing it objectively and non-judgmentally for a moment.
Notice without judgment the feeling that it creates in your body when you're aware of it and if it's an uncomfortable feeling don't judge that either,
Just embrace it momentarily as an experiment.
Just allow that feeling to be there in as much fullness as it wants to be,
As much as you can allow it to be in this moment.
And now I invite you to be aware of a person or thing that you feel a sense of unconditional love for.
It could be someone in your life,
It could be a pet,
It could be a place.
Whatever conjures that really embodied feeling of unconditional love,
Like yes I love this person,
Place,
Or thing no matter what,
Embrace whatever arises and let it float into your consciousness.
And imagine your body now as a fountain that's allowing these feelings of unconditional love to spring up in a really felt sense as you're aware of this person,
Place,
Or thing that brings up this feeling of unconditional love.
Allow those feelings to be as strong,
Flowing,
All-encompassing as they want to be.
Don't block them,
Breathe them,
And allow them to flow and magnify with each breath.
And now be aware of that part or quality about yourself that you don't like or fully accept yet,
And start to aim this feeling of unconditional love that you've brought up in your consciousness at that part of yourself.
Even if it seems counterintuitive or unlikely or impossible,
Like you've never done this before,
Just experiment and breathe and send that energy of unconditional love towards that part of yourself specifically.
Imagine like you're surrounding and soaking that part of yourself in that unconditional love,
As if that part of yourself deeply yearned for love but didn't know how to receive it or ask for it.
And you're just ladling it on to that part of yourself with no limitation to the best of your conscious intention now.
If thoughts or inner resistance or stories arise out of that part of yourself,
That's okay.
It's another opportunity to shower those with unconditional loving energy,
Continuing to show and breathe and flow the simplicity of that towards whatever is arising moment to moment.
Imagine that part of you like a flower that's wanting to bloom and you're just continuing to water it with this unconditional loving energy in an unwavering focused way,
Concentrating all of the power of your consciousness on channeling that energy into this part of yourself so it soaks into all the nooks and crannies.
Notice how this energy of unconditional love is a deep part of you and it's also beyond you and bigger than you at the same time.
And feel the enormous power of that knowledge that you are calling upon and channeling this enormously vast energy as you send it for a few final moments into this part of yourself that might be deeply calling for it.
And just allow that feeling of unconditional love to ripple through all parts of your being now,
All parts of your awareness,
Past,
Present and future.
Breathing it in and allowing it to ripple through like a powerful wave.
Notice how as you check in with that part of yourself that you chose you might have a somewhat different perception of it now.
And whether you do or don't doesn't matter at first,
It takes practice to tune into this energy and give it to yourself more and more.
But you might notice going forward a sense of gentleness and embrace of those parts and the same equivalent parts that you see in others.
And if that energy arises and it feels good to you,
Simply embrace it,
Choose to welcome it.
And I encourage you to repeat this on different parts or aspects of yourself at a pace that feels good and manageable to you.
