In this Floating meditation, we'll take some deep breaths, progressively relax, release any heavy emotions that might be in the way of effortless floating, ground ourselves to earth -- and then take flight. In this state of floating and lightness we'll feel ourselves like a feather in the breeze, release linearity and logic, set our imaginations ablaze and get a healing perspective on our life on earth, finally carrying back this reinvigorated floating, flowing spirit back into our day.

Hey,

I'm Cyrus.

Welcome to this floating meditation,

For when you feel heavy and laid down and you want to feel light and free and flowing.

Eliminate any distractions and then lay down comfortably or sit upright in a chair with your eyes closed.

Once you've found a comfortable position,

Settle into physical stillness in your body and take a moment to decide to commit to physical stillness throughout the session so you can create the most total state of floating and lightness.

Take a deep,

Slow,

Nourishing breath all the way into your lungs and release out through the mouth,

Letting go of stress.

Let's do one breath hold.

Take a really deep breath into the entire body.

Fill up the whole body and hold the breath gently.

As you hold,

Feel the body head to toe,

All the sensations.

And release.

Feel your muscles melt as you exhale slowly out through the mouth.

Bring your attention to your feet.

Allow the magnetic energy in your feet to come to life as you bring your consciousness down there.

And gently allow the feet to soften and unwind,

Reversing gravity,

Bringing the attention up into the legs.

Feeling these superhighways of energy traveling up and down the legs.

And gently unclenching the legs.

Likewise,

Noticing your back and all the back muscles.

Releasing.

This wave of relaxation traveling around your torso to help you soften the chest and stomach with the breath gently coming to you at its own pace.

The neck and shoulders releasing and expanding.

And this wave of effortless ease traveling down into your arms and hands as they go on standby.

And you let them be free of any sense of doing.

The arms and hands simply existing.

Keep yourself awake and sharp and alert in your mind even as the body progressively unwinds.

And feel your face and all the tiny delicate muscles in your face softening,

Unclenching,

Releasing.

Now notice any emotional or energetic tension that you're still holding in your body or that you've been carrying around with you.

Notice where it's located in the body.

And simply notice this energy as a potential obstacle to this state of effortless floating that will gradually unlock.

And allow those sensations of tension or heaviness to be there to whatever extent that they're present.

Welcome them,

Surrender to them,

And observe them.

Notice how the sensations are beginning to defreeze,

Thaw,

And melt as we gently breathe into them and allow the muscles around them to relax further.

Noticing a sense of spaciousness opening up around those sensations,

Observing this sense of space that's effortlessly beginning to open up.

Observing whatever remains of these heavy or tense sensations for a few more moments of total surrender.

Notice how these sensations may be starting to lift and evaporate and convert into a sensation of lightness and welcome those light,

Relaxed,

Open sensations.

If any of that energy remains,

Just notice how there's a sense of spaciousness around it and trust that it will continue to melt and lift as we stay in the rhythm of the moments with no expectations.

Now begin to feel the sensation of your body grounded to the earth for a moment.

Notice the points of contact where your body is touching the chair or the bed or whatever support is underneath you.

And allow yourself to effortlessly sink and release into that grounded sensation,

Feeling the safety of the earth underneath you,

Cradling you.

Now begin to release all tension in your muscles and your body,

Effortlessly allowing any remaining whispers of that tension to be extinguished.

And shift your attention to the opposite sensation of becoming light and floating.

Notice how just with the power of your mind,

Your body is becoming totally weightless and effortless.

As each breath smoothly cascades in through your nostrils,

Feel yourself becoming as light as the air that's flowing through you.

With each breath,

Feel yourself becoming as light as the air that surrounds you.

Feeling all the density of the matter of your body evaporating and noticing yourself becoming pure energy,

Pure vibration.

Feeling yourself drifting like the lightest feather in the most pleasant breeze.

Reveling in being like an astronaut in zero gravity,

Able to do slow motion somersaults and dance amongst the stars.

Feeling yourself effortlessly light and free and flowing.

The earthbound constraints of logic,

Worry,

And linearity no longer affecting you on this plane as you feel every cell of your being bursting with creative flow and lightness.

Allowing your imagination to be set alight in this state and drift wherever it pleases.

Feeling yourself drifting like the lightest feather in the most pleasant breeze.

Seeing and feeling yourself with total perspective of your life on earth.

Absorbing that feeling and wisdom in this moment of floating.

Allowing yourself to recall a loving moment in your life.

And gently,

Deeply breathing in that feeling of love,

Allowing it to lift you to even greater heights of lightness and flow.

Feel your vibration completely and viscerally elevated.

Drifting downwards with your mental parachute,

Plopping your consciousness back into your body.

But this time with a sense of having that souvenir with you of lightness and floating and effortless ease.

Taking a moment to visualize yourself going through the rest of your day,

Seeing and feeling yourself in this state of lightness and flow.

See yourself doing one thing at a time because it's coming so easily that there's no need to be anywhere but where you are.

One thing at a time.

Setting a conscious intention if you choose to carry that with you back into your day now and to return to it when you drift.

Gently opening the eyes and coming back into your body.

Connected to the small movements that you make as you warm up back into your environment feeling that sense of lightness and floating ease having reinvigorated your spirit.
