Welcome,
Love.
Take a moment to settle wherever you are.
Allow your body to find stillness.
And if it feels safe for you today,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow,
Steady breath in through your nose and release it softly through your mouth.
One more time,
Inhale and exhale,
Letting the body soften.
From the time we are small,
The world teaches us how to shape our voices.
We learn which tones are pleasing,
Which words smooth conflict,
How to make ourselves sound easier to accept.
Sometimes,
This softening or shifting becomes so practiced,
We forget the resonance of our own true voice.
Take a moment to notice what happens in your throat,
Your jaw,
Your chest,
When you think of speaking your truth freely.
If it feels comfortable,
Bring one hand gently to your throat and one to your chest,
Noticing the warmth of your own touch.
Take a breath in and as you exhale,
Allow a soft hum to leave your lips,
Gentle,
Quiet,
Only for yourself.
Notice the vibration beneath your hand,
Feel it echo in your chest.
Again inhale and hum softly on the exhale.
You might sense the sound settling deeper each time,
A reminder that your voice belongs in your body.
Rest for a few breaths,
Feeling the quiet resonance still moving through you.
Notice how the body responds when sound is allowed to flow.
If it feels right,
Repeat softly to yourself,
In your mind or out loud,
My voice belongs here just as it is.
Take one last deep breath in and release it with ease.
When you're ready,
Just bringing some awareness back to your body,
Some gentle movement back to your fingers and toes,
And opening your eyes,
And carry this with you today.
Your voice is not something to be performed,
It is a homecoming.
And as always remember,
You are loved,
You are enough,
And you are whole.
