Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and the great stillness before the Sun’s strength builds and days grow longer. From an energetic perspective, this is a time for physical and spiritual hibernation, a time to go within. It is a time of contemplation, reflection, and listening to your inner voice. Relax as you are guided through the ways to identify and listen to your voice of intuition. Leave feeling more closely aligned with your higher self and go forward knowing that you have made room for amazing new beginnings.

Make yourself comfortable.

Being comfortably seated is best for this meditation,

With your back fully supported and feeling your feet on the earth to be fully grounded.

If you do prefer to lie down,

Then you want to feel your spine fully supported and connecting with the earth.

Make sure that you have plenty of time and space to yourself to enjoy this meditation.

After solstice meditation,

We breathe all the time without consciously thinking about it.

And when we consciously think about it,

It can really center us.

Particularly when we practice mindful breathing.

So let's practice some mindful breathing.

Breathing in,

I know I am breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know I am breathing out.

Close your eyes if you haven't already done so,

And breathe in for three,

And out for four.

Breathing in,

I know I am breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know I am breathing out.

Breathing in,

I know I am breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know I am breathing out.

Breathing in,

I know I am breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know I am breathing out.

As you continue to focus on your breath,

Can you tune in to your intuition?

Our inner voice is soft and calm,

Yet wise and crystal clear.

Consider this as we continue with this meditation.

Breathing in,

I know I am breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know I am breathing out.

Now ask yourself what you can let go of.

What can you let rest to make room for something new,

Something healthier,

Or even something more exciting?

Feel the fullness of your body as you breathe in and breathe out.

Feel the fullness as you breathe in,

And the emptiness as you breathe out,

And the flow of energy in between.

Now consider what you could let go of to help your body to be healthier and more vibrant.

Just listen to your body,

Your inner voice,

Your intuition.

Now connect with your heart,

Your capacity to love and to be compassionate to yourself and to others.

Some relationships have served a purpose and are no longer helpful or healthy for you.

Ask yourself the following.

What relationships can I let go of in order to feel more emotionally free,

Loving and compassionate?

Observe your mind,

Listen closely to your soft and gentle guiding voice.

Mindsets can be challenging to shift.

Many people are conditioned and grow up with a limited belief system and focus mainly on self-criticism and negativity.

Once you're open to changing or expanding your positive beliefs,

You have the greatest potential to create more happiness in your life.

Now ask yourself,

What habits or beliefs can I let go of in order to experience more clarity of mind?

Give yourself some time to let any thoughts rise to the surface and listen for that kind,

Gentle voice.

Letting go in the way you have done may bring you closer to a spiritual connection.

So let's explore that further.

What can I let go of to experience a deeper sense of self and to connect with spirit?

Feel into yourself,

Notice a warmth inside you.

Imagine a spark of hope in the heart that grows into a flame and then the light from those flames radiates out of your body in every direction.

Remember that we need to let go and experience a symbolic death to certain aspects of our lives in order to gain new experiences.

We may need to visit the past but only to make peace with it,

So we can imagine spreading light on new possibilities for the future.

Now let's take a few moments to slowly come out of meditation.

Gently bring your awareness back into your room.

Back into your body.

Reconnect with your breath.

Take a moment to feel yourself sitting in this presence.

Still with your eyes closed,

Take your hands and place the palms together.

Now think of one thing you can be grateful for today.

Then place your hands over your eyes and feel the heat from the hands being absorbed by them.

Slowly and gently blink open your eyes while keeping the hands over them.

Take a few moments to do so.

There is no rush.

Now slowly move your hands away and bring your attention fully back into the here and now.

Namaste.
