Letting go of expectations can be extremely freeing. In this meditation, we use visualization as a means to let go of the expectations that we hold on ourselves, as well as the perceived expectations of others. Allow your mind to wander, sink into the space and fully allow yourself to unravel. Let go.

Welcome to your practice today.

Today unravel and sink into the space.

Allow your breath to guide you.

Close your eyes and really become one with this visualization.

Let go of the expectations,

The ones that you hold on yourself and the ones that you perceive others to hold on you.

Today is a day for new beginnings.

Today is a day to sink into your breath and to let go.

Allow your mind to wander here.

Hearing the gentle stream,

The chimes,

The birds.

Letting your mind go to this place,

A place that exists only for you.

Perhaps you're sitting on a river bank at the edge of a stream in a deep and lush forest.

Perhaps you're standing on a bridge.

Wherever you are,

Show up fully and completely.

Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin as it filters through the trees.

Catch a glimpse of your reflection in the water and see how you show up in your truest and most authentic form.

This is you,

This is who lives inside of your heart.

The only person that people should ever expect you to be.

As you settle in,

Breathe in all of the details of your space.

The colorful flowers,

The rocks that line the river bank,

The wind as it rustles through the trees,

And see the details that make you,

You completely and fully.

The clothing as it touches your skin,

The way your hair falls just so past your shoulder,

How the earth moves and feels beneath your feet.

Sink into this space.

It is safe,

It is warm,

It exists only for you and you can come here anytime you wish.

And just for a moment,

Draw your attention to the water.

This water has beautiful cleansing and healing power to it.

By touching it,

Standing in it,

Bringing it to wash over your face,

You cleanse away all of the expectations that you hold of yourself.

All of the expectations you think others have of you.

It is all received by the water.

Surise yourself,

Giving in,

Releasing any fear,

Any pain,

Any worry down into the water.

Touch it,

Bathe in it,

Float,

Let it cleanse your heart and your soul today.

Let all of your worry and pain drift away into the water.

As you come to sit on the bank of the river,

The stream,

This pond,

This beautiful pool of water,

You feel lighter.

You feel renewed.

You feel calm and at peace,

Protected by the space,

Cleansed by the water.

Know that this place exists only for you.

You can come here whenever you wish.

Anytime somebody has made you feel less than.

Anytime you worry,

You stress,

You feel fear or panic,

Come here and sink it into the water.

Allow it to carry all of your worries away.

In the next few minutes here,

Quietly,

Gently,

Breathing and being with your truest,

Most authentic self,

Feel comfortable in your own skin today.

You are an incredible human being.

You exist in this world for a much greater purpose.

You are capable of so many great things.

Let go of the expectations.

Breathe and just be today.

For being is simply wonderful.

Breathing and breathing is all you need to do here in this moment.

Sit here.

Stay here.

And just be.

The visualisation in this meditation really resonated with me and my mind even added a couple of extra details to the space. I just wish the quiet personal time at the end was a little longer. I love the nature and wind chime sounds and find them so calming. The idea of creating this space as a place of refuge to return to whenever needed set the scene for clarity of thought and really letting go. Thankyou, I will use this often. πŸ™
