When the ultimate truth is oneness.
Then what is there to be afraid of?
I know that's a lofty statement.
And it can be hard to feel safe when the world is so changeable.
And when our personal lives are always going up and down as well.
But once we start to awaken.
Into a new paradigm of reality,
Like I've talked about in my last two videos in this playlist.
We can start to get an inkling into what it feels like to access a sense of eternal safety.
It comes through that new way of looking at the world and what we are and what the nature of reality is.
Think of the metaphor of the wave in the ocean.
Just imagine for a moment that.
Everything is the ocean.
The ocean contains everything.
Just imagine that everything is one big vast ocean.
And I'm a little wave over here and you're a little wave over here.
And all the other people are little waves and there's a tree over there is a little wave and there's a.
.
.
Animal over there and everything,
It's all contained in this ocean as is.
All just little waves and ripples on the surface.
And win one of those waves.
Reaches its peak.
And starts to come to the end of its life cycle and come back down.
Is it removed?
From the ocean.
Is it outcast,
Out of the ocean of everything?
No,
It just comes back down to merge back into.
What it always already was.
Because it was the ocean.
It was something that the ocean was doing,
Right?
And this is the way that we can look at our own physical existence as well.
We are experiencing ourselves as a wave.
But there is a deeper reality going on,
Really,
Where what the universe is doing,
Or what the higher consciousness,
Or whatever you want to call the divine maybe,
Is doing.
And when this life cycle is over.
.
.
We like the wave will just melt back into that larger self that we always were and have been and are right now but just don't notice.
Because we're so busy.
Focusing on being the wave,
Aren't we?
We're so hypnotised and so convinced.
That we are the personal self and the body.
That we have forgotten all about that deeper,
Eternal,
Indestructible nature of what we really are.
And the Bhagavad Gita says that.
The self is never born and it never dies.
And I've actually noticed a few other spiritual teachers use that statement recently.
And honestly,
I love that statement.
It just connects me with a sense of eternal safety because it's what it's saying is the self,
Which is the true nature,
Which is like the ocean rather than the wave,
The self,
Is never born and it never dies.
And as a constant,
Ever-present continuum of consciousness.
And that self is what we really are.
And so we can get in touch with that self.
That is there now underneath the veil of our awareness,
Impenetrating every present moment so hugely,
But so subtly that we just don't even look at it,
We don't even see it,
Just like a fish swimming in water,
Doesn't see the water,
But it's the most obvious thing.
The most dominant thing really in their environment and they just don't see it.
And that's the same,
We don't see the self that we really are.
But I tell you how we can notice it and how we can notice this eternal nature.
If you think about Maybe you had a day where you woke up in the morning and you were just feeling so grumpy.
You got out of bed on the wrong side of that bed and you felt just grumpy and irritable.
And you were aware that you felt grumpy and irritable,
Right?
You were acting out the grumpy narrative,
But there was a party that was watching that.
There was an awareness.
That you're grumpy and you need to go to school.
And then later on in the day You had a coffee,
You felt a little bit better and somebody sent you flowers.
Amazingly,
Somebody sent you flowers to thank you for something that you'd done.
You received these flowers and all of a sudden your heart opened in gratitude and you felt so loved,
You felt so appreciated,
You felt valued.
And your heart opened and now you were feeling love and joy and you were aware.
That you are feeling love and joy.
You were aware of it,
You were watching it,
You were observing it.
And then later in the afternoon.
You'd been feeling so good.
You'd been ringing everybody and telling them about it.
You felt exhausted.
And you were aware that you felt exhausted,
You noticed that,
You were awake to it,
You were aware.
So through all of this,
Right,
Through the anger and irritation,
To the love and the joy,
And the exhaustion later on in the afternoon.
Did the awareness Change.
So that part of you that was aware of the grumpiness,
That was aware of the joy,
That was aware of the exhaustion.
Did it.
Change.
Through all of that.
And was it in any way?
Damaged,
Altered or damaged.
You know,
Hurt by any of the shifting that your personality or your emotions did that day.
Know,
Right,
The awareness is this constant unconditional.
Permanent,
Eternal,
Undamageable part that is always there.
Watch it.
And we can start to feel that more and more and more in our everyday life.
It's really interesting to notice how we can be in that awareness and we can be in that state of witness and we can be watching,
We can be observing,
We can feel awake.
And we can feel like we are that awareness.
Awake and aware of the changes in our mind and in our emotions and things like that,
And how easy it is.
To fall back asleep.
Into being the wave again,
Into being the human,
The personality.
Identifying with how you feel rather than I'm aware I feel angry.
I am angry.
Right.
Being it really.
Identifying with it.
It's so easy to fall asleep and become that again.
And this is the cosmic dance.
You can see it right now.
You can be aware of it right now.
It's obvious.
It's right there in front of our face.
This is the cosmic dance that we are doing.
We are awakening and falling asleep.
Awakening and falling asleep.
But ultimately.
We are.
Eternally safe because what we are is the greater self really overall and above and everything.
We are that greater One Self,
The ocean.
Rather than just the wave.
We're both in it.
But the ultimate reality.
Is the ocean,
That's the part of us we will always return to and from which we stem.
And when we start to really know that,
Feel that,
Meditate on that,
You know,
Really go into that,
We can start to come back to a sense of eternal safety that no matter what happens in this lifetime,
Death,
Humiliation.
Health issues.
Financial issues doesn't matter.
You are eternally safe.
It does not ultimately,
In the bigger,
Bigger,
Biggest scheme of things,
It does not matter.
And the beauty of this.
Of knowing this.
Is because then you can start to operate in your life.
From a consciousness of safety.
Rather than from the knee-jerk reactions of fear.
Pushing and pulling your decisions all over the place,
Often creating more.
Fear.
When we can operate from a sense of eternal safety,
Our decisions really do change and life can move to a whole new level.
I wish this for all of us.
Thank you for listening.
See you in the next video.
