Hi,
I'm Susanna and I'd like to invite you to join me in the practice of shamanic writing.
It's one of my favorite things to do.
Shamanic writing differs a bit from ordinary journaling because it's an invitation to access information from the realm of your higher self or source energy,
Spirit,
However you like to see it.
And in order to do it we begin by creating sacred space in order to make that access easier.
So what I wanted to do is share with you a few ways that you might like to start to evoke that sacred space.
So very simple things,
Right?
For instance,
You could make yourself a cup of tea,
Put it in your favorite mug and just bless it with the intention of being able to center in easily,
To align yourself with source energy,
With your higher wisdom.
You might take a smell and then take a sip and really bring your senses to become present to that experience of just taking a sip of tea.
Another thing that I like to do when I start to create sacred space is to light a candle.
It can be a real one or an LED one and it's just again a signal to ourselves,
To our nervous system that something different is happening now,
That this is special time.
Another way I like to do it is using a sound,
So for instance the singing bowl,
Which is the note G,
That actually helps to resonate the throat chakra and the throat chakra is the place of our creativity,
The expression of our truth,
Whether that's spoken or in writing form.
So we just offer ourselves the gift of that note.
Another way I like to create sacred space is using a beautiful essential oil.
What you can do is just put a drop of it in your hand,
Then rub your palms together,
Breathe in the scent and then just maybe pass it over your head,
Over your throat,
Over your heart,
Maybe smoothing out your energy field with it,
Just enveloping yourself with the frequency of an essential oil you enjoy.
You can of course burn incense,
Burn Palo Santo or sage and then one last thing that you might like to do is find yourself a crystal or a stone that you love and ask it to help you as you hold it to enter into that shamanic space,
That connection with higher consciousness that can support your writing practice.
So you don't need to do all of these but you could perhaps choose one or two that resonate with you.
So I'm going to center us in and as I do we're going to close our eyes and as I do I'll explain the instructions of how to do this practice.
So I invite you to take a deep breath in through your nose and sigh it out and then just if it's comfortable close your eyes and let's settle in,
Allowing your breath to be very easy in a natural rhythm and let's imagine a beautiful white feather of inspiration and connection that is floating down from the sky above your head and as it reaches your head it transforms into light.
It continues to wind its way down through your head,
Drifting gently down through your throat and landing softly in the center of your chest in your heart space.
Just inviting this energy center to open up,
To come online,
To become active as the space where you and your higher self or source energy have a beautiful sense of connection and union.
It's always there of course but we're just making it conscious.
Like the glow of the Sun rising,
Just letting there be a light in the center of your chest that begins to expand outward,
Bringing you so effortlessly and naturally into this frequency of clear connection.
And as we enter into this sacred space of shamanic writing,
I invite you to consider a question that you'd like to ask today of your higher self.
It could be something that's feeling challenging to you in your life at the moment.
It could be something that you're curious about,
Something you'd like to activate more of in your life.
Just consider what your question might be.
And now for this day,
For this practice,
You're going to come up with a way of addressing your higher self or source or spirit.
So you might say for instance sweet spirit,
Dear higher self,
Beloved universe,
Source energy.
And then you're going to come up with a way that this energy chooses to address you and let it be something that kind of touches your heart.
It might be a term of endearment.
It might be something that just feels compassionate and kind.
You might say beloved little one,
My sweet angel,
Dear heart.
And these are the three elements that we're going to use as we move into the practice.
So you'll have at hand your question,
Your way of addressing source and source's way of addressing you in return.
We're going to ask a question,
Address ourselves from source and then allow the writing to pour onto the page together.
So let's take one more breath together in through the nose.
Hold it for a moment.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
I'm going to play some music and we're going to write for about eight or nine minutes.
I'll time us.
So let's begin.
So you'll begin by addressing spirit in whatever way you choose.
And then you'll ask your question.
And when you've written your question,
Then you respond from your higher self,
From spirit,
From source,
Addressing yourself in the way you've chosen.
And then just allowing the writing to flow on the page.
If at any point you feel stuck,
Just give thanks on the page for any wisdom that's come through.
And then ask your question again,
You can write it out again.
Or feel free to ask a different question and listen and write.
Got just about 30 seconds left.
And as you wrap up your writing practice,
It's nice to just write thank you.
Just,
You know,
Acknowledging any wisdom that's come through.
And acknowledging the preciousness of this connection that you are beginning to forge,
Or perhaps are strongly forging with your own higher self,
Your own higher wisdom.
As we were writing,
I asked,
You know,
What I might share with you.
And what came through was just to remind you to feel the freedom of this,
The knowing that you are supported and guided by your own higher wisdom,
And that no one knows your truth,
Or what your next steps are better than you.
And as you learn to listen deeply to yourself,
What becomes available to you is this unfolding path,
Carrying you in the journey of fulfilling what you've come here to do as a soul.
So I hope that you will come to enjoy this writing practice as much as I do.
If you'd like a little extra help with it,
I have a course called Streaming from Source,
Which is three lessons that takes you through this process a little bit more slowly.
And in the meantime,
May shamanic writing bring you much joy.
