Hi,
I'm Susanna Kenton,
And if you've been struggling with insomnia,
Restlessness,
Not sleeping well for a while,
I've got you.
We're going to do some tapping that will help clear not only your body's energy meridians,
But also those beliefs that cause you to feel anxious or hopeless around sleeplessness so that you can just relax your body,
Relax your mind,
And drift into peaceful sleep.
So let's begin by just taking a nice full breath in,
And let it go.
Just coming to sit softly in your own skin.
And I usually like to do tapping,
Whether it's for sleep or something else,
In a seated position.
So I'm going to speak some phrases and have you repeat them after me,
Either just mentally or out loud.
If anything I say doesn't ring true for you,
Please feel free to replace it with a phrase that does.
So we're going to start on the karate chop point.
Tapping there we say,
Even though I feel so discouraged about lack of sleep,
I choose to deeply and completely accept myself anyway.
Even though I feel anxious when I go to bed,
Because I haven't slept well for a while,
And I hate the tossing and turning.
I forgive myself,
And I forgive anything else that may have contributed to my sleeplessness.
Even though I feel so stressed about poor sleep,
I'm open to a whole new sleep experience where it becomes easy and effortless,
And leaves me feeling rested and refreshed in the morning.
Good.
Let's go to the eyebrow point.
This issue with poor sleep.
Side of the eye.
I'm so over it.
Under the eye,
It's so frustrating to not be able to sleep.
Under the nose,
And I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.
Chin.
I just can't get my mind to calm down.
Collarbone,
And I dread going to bed.
Under the arm,
No matter what I do,
Nothing seems to help.
Top of the head,
And I'm so frustrated by this sleep problem.
And take a breath.
Okay,
Let's do one more round,
Focusing on some common sleep concerns.
So we go back to the eyebrow point,
And tapping we say,
I just can't get comfortable in bed.
Side of the eye,
And I often wake up in the night and can't go back to sleep.
Under the eye,
I know I need good sleep to support my health.
Under the nose,
But no matter how I try,
Nothing seems to help.
Chin point,
This overwhelming feeling of frustration around sleep.
Collarbone,
My mind feels so busy at night.
Under the arm,
There's so much to worry about.
Top of the head,
And I forgive myself for all of this sleep angst.
And take a breath.
Great,
And now we're going to go back to the eyebrow point and we say,
Taking the pressure off myself to fall asleep.
Side of the eye,
I listen to my body's signals and honor them.
Under the eye,
I support myself well to wind down at the end of the day.
Under the nose,
It feels so good to breathe out and relax.
Chin,
Finding it surprisingly enjoyable and simple to rest.
Collarbone,
I trust my body to find a comfortable sleeping position.
Under the arm,
That works for me time and again.
Top of the head,
Feeling safe and peaceful.
Eyebrow point,
I might follow a guided meditation.
Side of the eye,
Gorgeous follow my breath in and out.
Under the eye,
Tapping to release calming hormones.
Under the nose,
That clear stress and welcome relaxation.
Chin,
I gently rewire my brain for soothing peaceful sleep.
Collarbone,
It feels good to trust the process.
Under the arm,
And lean into knowing that what time I fall asleep.
Top of the head,
Or how long I sleep for.
Collar,
Are far less important.
Side of the eye,
Than the permission I give myself to find my way back to deeply restorative sleep.
Under the eye,
In my own way and time.
Under the nose,
Softening and melting into sleep as a baby does.
Chin,
Not a care or concern needs my attention.
Collarbone,
Awakening feeling calm and restored.
And take a breath.
And for a moment just feel into the possibility of surprising yourself by becoming someone for whom sleep is effortless.
Someone who enjoys winding down and surrendering into that healing restorative place.
Blessings.
