When we think the belief we have is the absolute reality, then things can get very limited and very narrow. When we reside in the vast divine consciousness, then we are open to goodness and are open to the limitless possibilities.

I always do some contemplative reading before I go into my own meditation practice.

And today I was reading The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer.

And in it,

Of course I just opened it,

Right?

In it he's talking about how in consciousness we cling to things.

And the things we cling to in consciousness,

In our inner awareness or unawareness,

If you will,

Are thoughts and beliefs that create our inner landscape,

That create how we operate out in the world.

And it is also then the thing we cling to.

We hold onto these beliefs,

Thoughts,

Emotions.

We begin to think that they're real.

And then that builds our psyche,

Our persona,

How we interact within ourselves and with others.

And the truth about all of that is that when we cling,

We are creating limitations within ourselves.

When we think that the belief we have is the reality,

Right,

The actual absolute reality,

When we believe that,

Then things get very limited,

Get very narrow.

And in the book Untethered Soul,

Michael Singer is explaining that when we,

In consciousness,

Consciousness,

Spiritual consciousness,

Divine consciousness,

The thing that is bigger than any of us,

Is so vast,

So undescribable.

And when we reside as much as possible in that awareness of consciousness,

Then we open to the good in life,

We open to the possibilities of life.

Our limited thinking,

Our limited beliefs are no longer our reality.

But he said what happens is as we deny the truth of our being,

Like say,

Okay,

I'm not really that big of a person,

You know,

I'm not awake enough or I'm not conscious,

We focus down.

When our thoughts or our emotions come into our brain and they activate us,

Trigger us,

Wound us,

We focus on that one thing,

That person that done me wrong,

That thing that I think about myself.

And then that becomes our focus,

Not the vastness that we are,

Because we are all that.

But this one thing that then runs our life,

Right,

And leads us around by the nose kind of thing.

So I want us today to work on that focus,

Alright?

And we're going to do like a little,

Well,

You'll see,

You'll see.

Okay.

So first we're going to get grounded in our hearts.

So taking a deep breath,

Feeling your feet on the ground,

And allowing yourself just to send those beautiful,

Luscious,

Vibrant roots down into the earth.

This is your root system anchoring you here on planet earth.

And breathing that energy from the center of the earth.

This is vital energy.

Building it up that root system,

And up through the bottom of your feet,

Allowing that energy just to move up the meridians in your body.

Moving up your spine,

Activating the chakras,

Feeling vital energy entering into every cell of your body.

I just feel that earth energy moving all the way up your system until it comes through your crown chakra and just let it flow over you like a water fountain.

And then next,

Focusing on your heart center,

Taking a deep breath within the heart,

Feeling it open.

And with the next breath,

Allow the love that you are to multiply within your heart,

Breathing in love,

Exhaling love.

And feeling that love mingle with that earth energy that's in your body,

Feeling it circulate,

Entering into every cell,

Every organ,

Every system,

Vitalized and filled with love.

Good.

And now I invite you to choose one thing you've been focusing on,

One thing that has narrowed your inner vision,

Your inner perspective.

One thing that seems to be limiting you within you.

So for me,

It's the realization that my eating foods that are not good for my body is limiting me.

So what is it for you?

Without judgment,

I just focus in on that limiting belief,

The thing that you're clinging to.

Perhaps it's not exercising or perhaps it's a belief that I can only feel well if I exercise.

It's just where your focus goes.

Yeah notice how you wiggle.

Notice if you feel triggered.

Perhaps it's the thing you see outside of you that is drawing your entire focus.

And then I'm going to invite you just to move that image,

That thought,

That belief outside of your mind,

Just put it right in front of you like you're watching a movie screen.

And then just like in a movie,

I want you to zoom out,

Pull yourself back as far as you can from that focused idea.

And as you pull yourself back,

As you move away and up higher,

Watching that thing that you've been focused on,

That limiting belief,

That worry,

Fear,

Whatever it is,

Begin to see that there is a vast landscape.

There is so much more than what you've been focusing on.

I notice if you feel like the need to be tethered to that focus,

The need or the want to feel safe by clinging to that individual focus.

And as you feel those things in this vast landscape,

Allow those feelings,

Those emotions,

Whatever is tethering you to be released as you in this zoom out perspective begin to see so much more,

So much more than what you were focusing on.

And notice if there's anything else in this field that draws you.

Just notice,

You don't have to zoom in on that,

Just notice.

And now I want you to zoom in slowly to that thing you were focusing on and see if you still feel attached to it.

Do you still feel the need to cling to that thing?

And take a deep breath down into your belly as you come closer and say to yourself,

I choose to be free.

I choose to be free.

I choose to be free.

And then again,

Zooming out into that vast,

Larger,

Beautiful landscape.

As you feel that freedom unhooking from whatever that focus was.

Let go of that tether and allow yourself to be in the vastness of this beautiful landscape,

This beautiful field of probability,

Of possibility.

And notice how you feel inside.

This is how you untether.

This is how you grow your inner awareness,

Your inner consciousness.

By recognizing what it is you've been focusing on that has you hooked,

That has you running around in a tizzy and bringing being yourself into the larger perspective,

Zooming out and seeing the larger perspective within your life,

Within your heart,

Within your mind.

Just bask in that.

There we go.

So taking a deep breath,

Breathing yourself back into the awareness of the room that you're in.

Breathing yourself back into a more grounded state of connection to your true self with a capital S,

To the source,

The divine spark within you.

And as you come into this groundedness,

Allow yourself the freedom today to be more than that small focused idea was,

To be loved,

To be free.

And one more breath becoming present to now,

Right now,

Right here.

I have one more thing I want to share with you.

So my book,

And one of the affirmations on day 22 caught me.

It says,

I move beyond old limitations,

I am free and creative.

I am beautiful,

Powerful,

And strong.

So today let's move beyond the old limitations.

Let's stand in our power,

Our creativity,

And allow the beauty and the light that we are to shine.

And so it is,
