Today we will welcome our inner child to come out and express. Hold space for your inner child and explore what you may be holding onto, and what it needs. Allow your child to have a 'pity party' with acceptance, expression, and love. Explore your inner child deep within.

Good morning.

Good morning.

It's,

It's Monday,

The first Monday in November 2020.

In case people listen to this later in life.

So,

Welcome.

Before we dive in,

I just want to share something.

I'm going to be transparent.

So when I was getting ready this morning,

You know,

I found myself thinking,

Well,

This is really going to sound dumb.

I found myself thinking I wish people would feel sorry for me.

Oh,

My God.

What the hell?

I was like,

Wait a minute.

What does that mean?

Why?

Why?

Why?

And I realized that it was my inner child that was kind of that was having a bit of a pity party.

So,

I can't imagine I'm the only one that's feeling that.

So,

I want to do a short guided meditation today to deal with the inner child with everything that's going on in the world right now.

I think it's important to allow that inner child,

The one that maybe is having the pity party or feeling oh so sad,

Or oh so angry or whatever,

To have expression,

To have expression.

Have your journal for after in case stuff comes up.

And I am inviting you if you don't have a smoky quartz,

Doesn't have to be this big,

Get one.

It's for grounding your energy here on planet Earth.

And I think right now so many people because of the whole pandemic and global chaos and coming apart,

Getting a smoky quartz,

Putting one under your bed,

Carrying one in your pocket,

Having it in your room next to you or your office as you're working or,

Or whatever will help your body to remain here on planet Earth.

Because if you're listening to this meditation,

You are a light leader.

Now we're going to just sit with ourselves and allow our inner child to have full expression.

Okay,

So here we go.

Just take a deep breath in and exhale.

And another breath,

Allowing the mind to relax,

Allowing the body to relax,

Allowing your energy system to begin to calm with each breath.

And now I want you to put your attention on your feet.

And I want you to send down into the earth,

A root system that spreads out like an oak tree,

But also goes very,

Very deep into the earth.

And these roots connect you to your family,

Your ancestors,

The people you love and care about.

And just breathe those roots all the way down into the center of the earth.

And then breathe up that earth energy up through those roots and see whatever color it is for you.

Perhaps it's vibrant green,

Perhaps it's just that beautiful orange and red and blue hot energy.

Just pull that up through the bottom of your feet,

Allowing this earth energy to enter your body,

Your mental,

Emotional and physical body.

As you breathe that energy up your legs,

Filling your knees,

Your thighs,

Your hips,

Breathing it into your solar plexus,

Your gut,

Allowing that earth energy to move up your spine,

Aligning and opening chakras as it comes into your shoulder area.

And breathe it out your arms and fingertips and all the way up through the top of the head.

And it just allow that beautiful energy to create a bubble around you.

An energetic bubble around you.

I'm moving my arms if you want to do that,

Just to have a physical experience of this bubble we are creating all around us and closing us.

And now I want you to imagine in this beautiful grounded earth bubble that you've created around yourself.

I want you to see yourself in a room or in a field or on the beach,

Wherever is the place that just tunes you in and tunes you up.

And I want you to take a seat wherever you are in this room,

This field,

This beach,

This wherever.

And I want you to call to you into your awareness,

Your inner child.

Have them come sit next to you.

And perhaps your inner child has a different name or a nickname.

But welcome this child sitting next to you.

And just ask her or him,

How are they feeling right now?

What have they been feeling?

And tell them it's okay to feel it with you in this setting.

And allow them to have the experience of their own personal pity party or their temper tantrum or their crying.

They're sobbing their grief.

And you just sit next to your inner child and listen,

Listen with your inner ear to whatever it is that your inner child needs to express.

And the reason why I say needs to express is because what I notice like this morning is when a random thought occurs,

That's not in true alignment with me,

With who I am.

Like I want to,

I want people to feel sorry for me.

That's usually a red flag.

If you're feeling angry,

That's usually a red flag.

If you're feeling overwhelmed and anxious,

That's a red flag.

If you're feeling sorry for yourself,

If you're feeling an overabundance of sorrow,

Grief,

Guilt,

Shame,

Those are all red flags.

And I'm just saying this as you're sitting with your child in that environment that's beautiful to you.

And it's a red flag that there is something within you that is being ignored,

Covered up,

Pushed to the side.

And often our inner child is the one that holds that experience for us.

So just ask your inner child,

What is it they need to express?

And give them space right now to do it.

Breathing.

Allowing.

And trusting in the space that you and your inner child are safe.

And listening.

And listen deeply under whatever these emotions are that she or he is expressing.

Listen very deeply.

What is it that really needs to be revealed?

What is the truth underneath all of it right now?

And listen with your heart,

Not your head.

And if tears come up,

Allow them.

You don't have to figure it out.

You're helping that inner child to process.

To open,

To release.

And just be with that experience until your inner child feels complete.

And now take a moment,

Ask your child if there's anything else you need to know.

And just feel it.

And then speak a word of gratitude to your inner child,

Thanking her or him for joining you today.

And give yourself a pat on the back for allowing that safety net for that inner child,

Allowing a place where truth and trust and love can be shared.

So now is the opportunity to hug that inner child.

Give a big squeeze.

Big,

Big,

Big,

Big love squeeze.

And then with gratitude,

Taking a deep breath,

Allowing yourself to feel free,

Allowing yourself to feel open and happy today.

Breathing in and coming present to the room you're in,

The actual room.

And I invite you,

When this meditation is done,

To take a moment to journal anything,

Or at least to sit with what occurred for you.

I know for me what came up since I started with the pity party is I want to feel celebrated.

And so that's what I'm going to do for myself over the next day or two.

It's just celebrate.

Celebrate me.
