Good morning,
Good afternoon,
Good evening,
Wherever you are.
So if you just joined us,
I say a few words or I read something.
Now we have a guided meditation and it tends to be.
.
.
Quite spacious.
Intentionally.
Very simple.
So I'm going to read something by Eugene Gendling,
Who was the creator of focusing,
A way of,
Just put simply,
Listening to the body.
Then we're going to have a meditation around this.
What is split off,
Not felt,
Remains the same.
When it is felt,
It changes.
Most people don't know this.
They think that by permitting the feeling of their negative ways,
They think that by not permitting the feeling of their negative ways,
They make themselves good.
On the contrary,
That keeps these negatives static.
The same from year to year.
A few moments of feeling it in your body allows it to change.
So if there is something in you that feels bad or sick or unsound,
Let it inwardly breathe and be.
Just feel it.
That's the only way it can evolve and change into the form it needs.
So that's why in meditation there's such a lot of emphasis on just experiencing what's here.
It's not just the feelings of the body,
It's the five senses.
But the body holds a lot of unprocessed emotionless,
I don't like those terms but I can't think of better ones.
It hauls energy,
Trapped energy,
Maybe better.
Eyes open or closed.
Sit comfortably.
Normally or often we turn away from something that maybe feels a little uncomfortable.
So I want you to take your attention into the body.
You may find something.
Attention holding.
Maybe more emotional,
It doesn't matter.
May it be a sadness.
Just give it space.
You just joined us.
Just checking our attention into the body.
Is anything uncomfortable?
Is give it space.
You may notice what it feels like.
What's the texture of it?
Let it breathe.
Don't go into this story.
Just let the thoughts drift away.
Drop them.
If you find it is tricky to find something.
Ask the question.
So what don't I want to feel right now?
Walk around it,
So to speak.
Explore it.
Not analyzing it.
Does it have a color or a shape?
Let it reveal itself.
I will try to change it.
Let it be.
If you want to ask it a question you can.
Something like.
.
.
So what do you need from me?
And listen to it.
Nothing needs to happen.
No breakthroughs.
Now looking for breakthroughs.
An obstacle.
Kindness is more important.
Presence.
Curiosity.
Just keep it company.
Might be a sadness,
Feeling of loneliness.
My failure.
So fist-like in the chest Tight your shoulders.
The direct experience of what others hear.
So now I'd like you to relax the attention.
Just sit with the sense of the whole body.
And the senses are hearing.
I want you literally to just sit quietly.
Listening feeling.
Feel the breath if you wish.
We're not trying to attain anything.
Relax.
Just experience what's here.
As the attention.
Keep playing with the thoughts.
You get burned.
Drop them.
And not bad.
Not the enemy.
Just drop them.
Come back to the breathing or the hearing.
What's going on?
There is no destination.
Other than here and now.
Okay,
Can bring this session to an end.
Open your eyes if they're closed.
Have a little stretch.
