Good morning,
Good afternoon,
Good evening.
Starting a bit late at the moment,
Just having a bit of trouble with microphones.
Well,
It's sort of for this morning,
I think.
I'd have to purchase another one.
So I'm going to read a little bit of,
Just a short quote from.
Our guest teacher.
Charlotte Yoko back.
Few words.
Awareness is our true self,
It's what we are,
So we don't have to try to develop awareness,
We simply need to notice how we block awareness with our thoughts,
Our fantasies,
Our opinions and our judgements.
We are either in awareness,
Which is the natural state,
Or we are doing something else.
Of Mischief.
That's why.
.
.
Way.
We're not trying to get somewhere.
We take the position of the sky.
The sky doesn't have to do anything about being the sky.
It doesn't worry about the clouds.
The clouds come and go.
And they always will.
We could take that analogy further.
They say,
Well,
The sky knows the nature of the clouds.
It's not worried about them.
Likewise,
Awareness is like,
Let's say it's like the sky,
Just here,
Spaciousness.
Presence,
Just other words for the same thing.
It's always here.
This is what we do.
We take their thoughts to be something other than what they are,
Just sometimes helpful pointers,
A brilliant tool,
The thinking process.
There's a belief that there's something else about them.
That my judgment about somebody is absolutely true.
It's not.
Because somebody else will have a very different judgment.
We spend our time fantasizing.
And we've done it for so long.
We're so convinced that that's,
You know,
Part of my life,
That's me.
And our life is happening.
In a sense,
Prior to all that fantasy.
The livingness,
The hearing,
The seeing,
The feeling,
That aliveness.
That's where the ease is,
That's where the joy is.
That's what we're looking for.
Or we think we can find it by working it out.
Getting all our thought ducks in a row,
Just thinking the right thoughts.
It won't happen.
So what do we do?
We simply notice,
As Djoko says.
The shenanigans are going on.
We decline those invitations as best we can.
And come back to pure experiencing,
The breath.
Sound of the birds.
Your very own presence of beingness.
The feeling of sadness.
The experience of feeling at ease and relaxed.
It doesn't matter what it is,
What the content is,
It doesn't matter.
Maybe let's start off with a mantra,
Shall we?
Just for a few minutes to help calm the nervous system.
The mantra,
As you remember,
Is sharing.
Sharing,
Shari.
Allowing everything to settle.
You can drop them out if you wish.
Always pick it up again,
If you.
.
.
Just overly busy-headed.
Just checking that you are relaxed.
List your attitude.
Or charging ahead.
It's the experiencing what's here.
As your attention.
Is moment by moment.
Seeing what life presents.
In a way of sensations,
Sound,
Thoughts What's happening?
Take your attention to the end of the out-breath.
Just feel that.
There's a natural letting go of that.
Okay,
Brings us to the end.
Very very dark here,
Looks like some rain.
Thank you guys,
See you tomorrow.
