Linking the head to the heart.

There is a Native American Sioux saying,

The longest journey you will make in your life is from your head to your heart.

I see this as moving from the mind,

The thoughts and beliefs,

To the creative heart centre of feelings,

Sensations and a knowing,

An inner awareness of the choices and possibilities which brings joy and happiness and a sense of wellbeing into our life.

Now let's prepare for a visualisation linking your head and your heart.

Go inside and envisage the space behind your eyes and then move your attention to your breath.

Breathing into your heart,

Breathing in and out into your heart space.

Feel yourself centred.

Feel yourself relaxing.

Feel yourself calming.

Staying within,

Move your attention to the ground and to your feet on the floor.

Feel your feet resting on the floor.

And then slowly staying within,

Bring your attention up your legs,

Into your hips,

Through the abdomen,

Up to the heart space and feel the expanse of the chest.

Now moving your attention up to your head,

To behind your eyes,

And to the area at the top of your head and imagine a light just above your head.

The light may be immediately above your head or you may choose to expand the light further away from yourself,

Maybe to the sun or to a star or beyond.

See that light far away or as close as you want it to be for comfort.

And slowly bringing your attention away from the light and back into the head again.

Moving slowly down through the neck into the heart and you rest in the heart space.

Feeling it expand.

You feel warm.

You feel safe and secure.

And you know that this is your time to be.

To be quiet.

To rest.

And to nourish yourself.

A time to bring energy into the body by linking head to heart.

Keeping your attention within,

You move your beam of awareness to the front of your heart.

Slowly move your attention to the back of your heart.

Visualise the back of your heart.

You become aware of the thin golden thread from the heart.

And you follow the golden thread down,

Down the body into the abdomen,

The legs and the feet.

Moving through the feet,

Down,

Down into the earth.

And into the centre of the earth.

This thread is securely holding you.

Feel the groundedness.

You're held into the centre of the earth by this golden thread.

Move your attention up the golden thread from the earth.

Through your feet.

Up your legs.

Into your hips.

Abdomen.

And feel the front of your heart.

Feel the back of your heart.

And the golden thread from the top of your heart.

Moving up through your neck.

Up through your mouth.

To the front of your head.

To the front of your brain.

Over the top to the back of your brain.

And in your mind's eye,

You see the golden thread move out of the top of your head.

And attached to the light above you,

Holding you securely.

Feel the connection.

You feel secure.

You feel safe.

See the light.

The head.

The heart.

The earth.

A single golden thread centring you and empowering you.

You bring the light down the thread into your head.

Feel the warmth and the lightness on the screen of your awareness in your head.

Bring the light down the thread to the heart.

And feel the light expanding into your body.

The connection between head and heart is made as if one.

One nurturing energy.

Connecting and fusing together.

Feel the sensation of connection,

The light energy between the two centres,

The head and the heart.

Feel the flow of the life force.

Feel the expanse.

Feel it radiating,

Filling you with nurturing energy.

Check to the maximum.

Focusing again on the golden thread,

We move down the body to the feet and we let the image of the golden thread go but we remain in the moment basking in the thoughts,

Feelings and sensation of light.

We rest.
