A gentle ten-minute meditation to soften suffering, using the Buddha's teaching of the two arrows. The first arrow is life's unavoidable pain. The second is the one we fire ourselves, the why me, the retelling, the story we build around the hurt. You are invited to bring a recent painful moment to mind, notice where it lives in the body, and rest there with soft curiosity. Then watch how quickly the mind wants to turn the feeling into a story. We cannot stop every arrow life throws, but with a little awareness we can stop adding our own, and even learn to smile when we catch ourselves aiming.
