Welcome to finding joy in the present moment,
First of all just find a comfortable spot or a comfortable position that you are going to relax into over the next five minutes or so and then just bring your attention to your breath,
You don't have to do anything with your breath just breathe in calm and breathe out relaxed and as you breathe out just allow your body to relax into this moment,
Allow your shoulders and your face,
Your neck and the rest of your body,
All your body knows how to relax you don't have to get involved you just have to invite the different areas to go ahead and relax and they know how to do it and I invite you to just be aware that this moment does have some joy and it's just waiting to be discovered and as we turn our attention fully to our breath and notice the natural rhythm and with each inhalation just visualize joy as light entering the body and as you exhale just imagine releasing any barriers to joy you have at the moment,
Breathing in joy and the light and releasing any pockets of tension that may be preventing it and you'll feel your body is a little lighter and you may start shifting your focus more towards your chest and your heart and if you gently move your focus to your senses,
What can you hear,
What can you feel,
What can you smell or taste right now and just acknowledge that these senses are gifts that you have in this present moment and they enable you to do such amazing things,
Your ability for your heart to feel and as you feel deeply this affirmation,
In this moment I am open to joy,
In this moment I am open to joy,
In this moment I can feel joy in this moment I can feel joy and now if you just express gratitude for this moment and really appreciate that finding peace in this simplicity that we just done,
Just by breathing in calm and being open to joy we can just feel it in this moment and we can fill our bodies with light and joy and we can recognize the senses and what joy they can bring us and this moment is everything it needs to be,
It is whole just the way it is and if you've got your eyes closed just gently open your eyes and shake out your arms and welcome back to this moment and thank you for spending a few moments with me,
I'm Stephen Webb and I'm the host of Stillness in the Storms and really do appreciate you listening to these meditations and if they help please let me know,
Take care,
I hope you have a wonderful joyful day
