Hello and welcome to this freedom meditation.
This meditation will be a visualization practice and I'll guide you through this experience in your mind.
If you're a visual person,
You can craft the visuals around it.
If you're not a visual person,
That's okay.
Imagine the feelings,
Imagine the essence of what I'm guiding you through and that's enough.
So start to find your way to your comfortable posture,
Whether that's sitting down or lying down.
Find a position where you can be alert but also comfortable,
Also relaxed.
Start to close the eyes,
Start to soften throughout the body,
Through your muscles and your joints,
Allowing a wave of relaxation to wash over you and start to deepen your breath.
Let each inhale and exhale get a little deeper,
A little more expansive and let them take you closer to where you want to go in this practice today.
Going deeper into your mind,
Allowing all other thoughts and distractions,
Anything else outside of you right now to fade into the background,
Focusing on your inner experience.
And now I want you to picture yourself inside of a cage.
You can choose how big or small this cage is.
Start to take in the components of it,
Noticing the bars,
The door,
The lock.
Start to examine it,
Observing it with more and more detail.
And once you have this visual or inner experience of yourself,
I want you to imagine that the cage,
The bars that are surrounding you,
Are your thoughts and beliefs.
The thoughts you have about yourself,
Of your limitations,
Of what you can and can't do,
The stories of how your past is holding you back,
This relationship,
That experience,
The beliefs about the state of the world,
The beliefs about other groups of people,
People in your life,
People that you admire,
People that trigger you.
All of these thoughts,
Stories,
And beliefs weaving together to keep you caged in this cycle in your current reality.
And now I want you to imagine that on the other side of the cage is every single thing you want.
Whether that's an item,
An object,
A career,
A dollar amount of money,
A person,
A relationship,
A feeling,
An essence,
A dream,
A wish,
A hope for the world.
Imagining that on the other side of the cage is every single thing that you want.
No dream is too big and it's all there waiting for you.
It's right there.
It's not even that far away.
It's just on the other side of the cage.
And in this practice today,
You can take one step closer to getting there.
Starting to think about the thoughts,
Stories,
And beliefs that are coming up most getting in the way of what you want,
Of that freedom.
And get really,
Really clear on them.
If there's an idea that pops right into your head,
Start to examine it a little more.
Start to chew it over without shame or judgment.
Instead,
With compassion,
With wisdom.
Beginning to unravel that story.
It came from somewhere.
And if it came from somewhere,
It can also be removed.
It can also be changed.
So you can stay with this one story or belief,
Investigating it further.
Or if there's another one coming up,
Start to examine that one.
Start to tug on the threads of it,
Making it a little less strong,
A little less charged.
And as you continue to unravel these thoughts and beliefs that have been habituated in your life,
You begin to create the key.
The key that unlocks your freedom,
Whatever that looks like and feels like for you.
Take a moment to rejoice that you showed up here today,
That you are investigating your own mind and doing something different,
Something challenging,
Something uncomfortable.
And we'll begin to make our way out of the visualization,
Seeing yourself freed from the cage.
Feel what it would feel like to open the door and burst out into this perfect reality.
Feel the feelings that come along with freeing yourself for you getting the key,
You unlocking the door,
You walking on this path.
Allow that to warm your heart and then begin to bring some movement back into the physical body and making your way out.
