Welcome to this meditation on impermanence,
What might feel really unfamiliar or uncomfortable when we start to think about our death,
Our mortality,
And what might be our last day on earth.
But the importance of doing this is to give us motivation to live this life to the fullest,
To not be weighed down by small things that wouldn't affect us if we knew we were at our end.
And so in this guided meditation,
You'll be invited to think about your last day.
And in doing so,
Give you the energy,
The love,
The support to continue on.
You're still alive,
You're still here.
And there's work to do.
So let's get into it.
Getting comfortable wherever you are.
Starting to breathe deeper,
More intentionally.
Feeling yourself start to settle,
Start to ground,
Following my words,
Allowing other distractions or sounds to tune out in the background.
Feeling your mind sharply focused on the task at hand.
Focused on the importance of this meditation and the benefits that it will bring you.
In your mind,
You start to visualize your last day.
Whatever comes forward,
Whether you're in a hospital or in your bed,
You know that this day will be your last.
And I want you to think about what's happening during this day.
Knowing that it's your last,
What are you thinking about?
How are you going about your day?
What do you want to say to the people around you?
Are there any words left unsaid with other people?
Any situations to mend?
Any situations to release?
Knowing that this is your last day,
What do you want to accomplish today?
If you could do anything,
If you could go anywhere,
Be anyone,
What would you want to do?
Who would you want to be?
Really feeling the energy of that.
What are you surprised about?
What are you curious about?
What's at the top of your mind on this last day?
And it's okay if it's fear.
That fear is there anyway.
And now it's time to face it.
Now it's time to look fear in the eyes and ask it what it wants,
What it wants from you,
What its purpose is in your life.
And in this last day,
Since you have the ability to do anything,
To be anyone,
To see anything,
How would you show up?
What would you want to know?
What would you want to connect with?
What stories would you let go of?
What stories no longer hold any weight in your life at this time?
Allowing your mind to show you pictures or your body to show you feelings and just continue to experience the last day on this earth,
In this body,
In this lifetime.
And carrying that with you as we start to make our way back out,
Out of the energy of the last day and into your life now,
Where you do have time.
You don't know how much time.
You do not know how much time.
But you're here.
And what do you want to do with that time?
What do you want to do with your body?
What do you want to do with your mind?
In this time that you have,
How will you move forward?
And as you make your way gently out of the meditation,
Feeling into your surroundings,
Maybe wrapping your arms around your body,
Giving yourself a hug or a rub of the heart to show that your heart is still beating.
Take care of it.
