Welcome to our practice this morning.
Our intention for this week is equanimity and equanimity is is a foundational layer to all things really.
It's not something we need to strive towards.
It's something that's already here if we allow it.
That's the tricky bit.
Allowing it.
So that's what we're here for really.
So begin by finding a comfortable posture.
You might be seated,
You might be lying down.
He might even be walking.
My hope is that you feel supported where you are,
That your space allows you to settle inwardly.
And the beginning of the practice is usually just about finding ground.
Like physically finding ground,
Finding the ground.
Allowing yourself to be supported.
There's an internal sense of dropping.
That for me is often accompanied by a bit of a sigh or two.
Certainly the breath responds.
To my invitation to drop.
You might become aware of sensation in the body.
It can be surprising.
The tension that we carry.
Make me some room for letting go of that.
Perhaps in the hands.
Or the jaw.
The Thighs So the first part of the practice is orientation to ground,
To breath and to body.
We start to actually be here.
All instruction on meditation that they're just pointers.
They're like fingers pointing at the moon.
But the moon itself is the practice.
So I hope that my pointers are helpful,
But please know that the practice is yours.
You already know how to do this.
Hmm.
We begin to wake up to this immediate experience.
Of the present moment.
You might connect to hard space.
Like the sensation of the heart.
Draw your awareness inwards.
We hold together an intention to be fully present present to your heart space.
The equanimity that is already here.
And with each exhale.
.
.
Allowing that presence to open out into space.
It's a deep releasing,
Surrendering.
Letting go.
That's not.
Full of effort.
It's not loaded with agenda,
It just is.
Each out breath.
Opening out into space.
Each in breath.
Humming in doubt.
Together we share our silence.
20 minutes Breathing into heart.
Breathing out.
Into space.
The simple instruction of breathing into heart.
Breathing out into space.
Often.
The mind.
Peace us off.
And thinking.
What thinking belongs?
It's not a problem.
As long as we are able to see that it's just thinking.
Hypnosis.
It's not solid.
And we can come back.
To the present experience.
Awake to this moment.
Breathing into heart.
Breathing out.
Interspaciousness.
And so we get curious.
How is it?
To stay with the present moment.
To experience.
What's here?
Without rushing to be somewhere else.
It's a simple suggestion to breathe into the heart,
To breathe out into spaciousness,
But the experience of that may not be so simple.
Much is happening.
Thinking.
Feels so solid.
Sometimes.
That's why it's called a practice.
I'm just practicing.
Being here now.
Allowing the breath to deepen,
Perhaps opening the eyes and allowing the space that you're in to be here too.
Maybe looking at the faces of the people that you shared your practice with.
We offer the fruits of our practice.
To ourselves.
To each other.
And to all beings.
Namaste Thank you for being here.
Enjoy your day.
