Okay,
So really lovely to be together.
Find our way to our.
.
.
Comfortable position.
And it might not all.
The yawn for me.
It might not be a direct route to a comfortable position.
You might need to have a little bit of movement,
A bit of stretching,
A bit of circling.
Brambles beside me and he's doing his little circle of getting cosy in his bed.
It's kind of how it is.
That's really what the practice is about today.
How it is.
Just whilst your awareness is with your body,
You might notice how that is.
Common places for holding tension accidentally is in the hands.
And the jaw.
Even the soles of the feet.
The neck and the shoulders.
And it can be helpful to acknowledge them.
Just acknowledging,
Ah,
Yes,
There's.
There's some tension there,
Maybe I'll let go of that.
I'm really with at the moment is how even that statement Implies that there's a way that you should be and a way that you shouldn't be.
The implication that the tension is a problem.
I'm very much with that.
I wonder if we were just to leave it alone.
And just witness it.
Witnessing it sorting its own self out.
Without our intrusion.
Can be helpful to find ground Yes,
Too.
Allow it to register.
Oh yeah,
There's a seat,
There's the floor.
And to witness the breath.
Moving in its own way.
There's a quote that I'm really with at the moment.
It comes from U.
G.
Krishnamurti.
And I'll share it with you.
You are trying to enforce peace through violence.
Yoga,
Meditation.
Prayers,
Mantras are all violent techniques.
A living organism is very peaceful.
You don't have to do a thing.
The peacefully functioning body.
Doesn't care one hoot for your ecstasies.
Beautitudes or blissful states.
And noticing how the longing for something different.
The longing for contact.
With a different moment.
How that has its own Intrusion into the present moment.
Of course it's natural when we're suffering to want to move.
Away from suffering.
It's part of our incredible.
.
.
Ability to adapt and survive.
And the longing to move away.
Can itself.
Become the suffering.
It's all part of our internal drama.
To need to be different.
Need to get somewhere.
The need to be right.
Somehow create the perfect balance of all things.
Responding and reacting and shaping and creating and acquiring.
Fueled by a longing.
For something different.
Seek solace today.
Never being.
With what is.
And in doing that.
Robbing.
The potential.
From emerging.
If we really trust life.
And we really allow ourselves to be with what is.
Something can emerge.
We don't know what it is.
That's part of the problem.
I don't like knowing not knowing what it is.
So it's a big ask.
Trusting life.
And allowing what is.
Maybe it's too big an ask.
In our practice today.
There is an invitation.
To notice.
How?
Longing is taking.
You away from what is.
What stands between.
Heel.
Your awareness.
And the fullness of this moment.
And I don't mean to imply that it's easy.
For that it's better.
I'm just curious.
I'm curious what it would feel like.
Deeply.
Allow what is.
I notice how that in me starts to be me chasing my own tail because what I notice about what is,
Is that I'm blocking.
Myself from what is.
And so that is.
Or it is.
Start noticing the mind.
Making sense or trying to.
And perhaps the practice.
Is more in the heart for me today.
How is your body?
The practice.
I love that it's called a practice.
It was never meant to be perfect.
What do you notice?
What are you with?
Sometimes,
Just for glimmers,
I notice a letting go.
And unfurling.
The tightness.
The control.
And then longing for more of that.
And so it begins again.
Longing for something different.
Certainly,
It's not something I find easy.
To fully dive into the moment.
As it is.
But I notice how my heart feels.
And it feels like something worthed.
Practicing.
Let me read the quote to you again.
And see how it lands for you.
You are trying to enforce peace through violence.
Yoga,
Meditation.
Prayers,
Mantras.
Are all violent techniques.
The living organism is very peaceful.
You don't have to do a thing.
The peacefully functioning body doesn't care one hoot.
For your ecstasies,
Beautitudes or blissful states.
Perhaps noticing where your body responds.
And how.
To the words of this Abba.
They're just his words.
They're not more right or more wrong than your experience.
But maybe they offer something.
Finding ground.
And breath.
Bringing your hands to your heart.
As we offer these fruits from our practice.
Whatever they might be.
To ourselves,
To each other.
And to all beings.
Namaste
