This quick practice begins by building layers of safety, and then turns to communication with your body. You will be guided through an exploration of how your body expresses yes, no, and maybe. Through repetition, this precious conversation becomes easier to hear and understand, supporting you in knowing your boundaries and holding them. This practice focuses on boundaries around physical touch, but as your skills develop, it becomes easier to find and enforce your energetic and social boundaries as well.

This is a practice to cultivate a sense of safety and to explore and honor your boundaries So you can start just by coming into your body breathing bringing awareness to your heartbeat the temperature of the air on your skin Remembering that this is just an exploration.

It is impossible to get this wrong and focusing on your physical being Noticing that there is no immediate danger to your physical body Noticing that your skin is intact your organs are functioning Cultivating as much safety as you can in this moment Looking for any places that feel relaxed gentle or receptive Seeing if you can expand that sense out to the other body parts Or maybe deep in the sense where you do find it and shifting your awareness now to your emotional state How much safety can you provide yourself right now?

Just in this moment.

Do you feel safe enough to express yourself emotionally?

What does that experience like it's a possible to increase the safety around your own emotions Now turning to your mental space Noticing what your brain is telling you Seeing how it is safe for your neurons and synapses to fire And if you don't love what they're saying just inviting the awareness that you can handle it in this moment Your mind is safe Finally checking how spiritually safe you feel How can you experience a sense that your soul or your essence is safe?

That in this moment,

There is no imminent danger to your spirit and holding all of these layers of safety together Inviting yourself to experience the highest level of safety that is available to you in this moment Knowing that that may change day to day hour to hour year to year But just for right now maximizing your physical emotional mental and spiritual safety Looking for sensations that are grounded Solid calm Bringing your presence here and feeling a sense of wholeness And now we're going to start a touching practice And setting an intention to anchor into this level of safety So if at any time you disconnect from safety at this level,

Please stop slow down And either rekindle that safety or just end the practice in a way that feels nourishing So you can just begin by gazing at your hand Setting an intention to receive information from your body through your hand and to honor your body's wisdom And now bringing your hand Just nearby Whatever body part you want to work with today.

Just hovering above it And asking this body part if it wants to receive touch today And just pause and your body may speak in words But maybe it will twitch pulsate Maybe you'll feel a change in the temperature Just trusting that your body will respond and give it time Your body never has to be touched not even by your own hand not by anyone You are a sovereign being Really feeling that permission That you have For a sincere yes or no,

Or maybe you can set these boundaries If you feel a clear no,

Please pull your hand away thank your body for the message Celebrate that your body is willing to communicate with you If you get a signal that is ambiguous or maybe hesitant pause And assure your body that nothing is required of it And then sense if there's something that would allow for a clear yes or no Maybe you could offer a time limit or offer a particular type of touch that would move that uncertainty either way If you receive a clear,

Yes Slowly move your hand towards your body Continue listening and allowing the possibility That that yes may change moment to moment and that that is okay And only with a clear yes bring your hand into contact with your body and Start to see what kind of touch it it wants right now if you feather light deep pressure or just stillness You can offer anything you like as long as you're staying very present with how your body is responding And you can also play with the idea of your hands offering different qualities to your body Does your body want to be painted with kindness?

Or massaged with forgiveness Or tapped with vibrancy and now thanking your body for this communication and just resting for a moment Integrating this experience allowing it to settle in and Become wisdom that you can tap into later Trusting that this was exactly perfect for today Thank you for participating in this beautiful work Enjoy the rest of your day
