If you're like me, you probably have 20 different goals you're working on. Skills to practice, projects to finish, more options than you can realistically tackle. From this space, it's easy to feel stuck, like you're not making progress in any direction. But is that true? In this guided meditation, we use reflection and celebration to gently challenge the story that we are stuck or overwhelmed. After you listen, I invite you to drink a tall glass of water. Bringing it into your body as a blessing, noticing its clarity and sparkling droplets, and using the powerful imagery of water flowing throughout your body to inspire your next mindful steps toward your chosen goals.

This is a meditation for those times when you feel stuck or frozen by overwhelm.

Too much to do,

Too many goals to pursue,

Too much busyness.

When you are doing so many things,

Even if they're the things that you have chosen,

That you don't feel like you're making any progress,

You're always changing,

Shifting,

Developing.

And in the course of that progression,

Sometimes we lose sight of all the little steps along the way.

But not today.

So easing yourself into a comfortable position,

Allowing that very busy mind that's offering you these stories to quiet down.

Maybe give your body a little shake or a bounce before falling into stillness.

And bringing to mind the version of yourself from about one year ago.

One year before your present day self.

And maybe they didn't have all the skills,

Or maybe they had recently acquired some skills but lacked the practice.

Just watching that version with compassion and curiosity.

What goals did that person have?

What seeds were planted last year with hope and determination?

What projects were started by that version of yourself?

And why?

What was that person hoping for?

And now looking at the projects that have been completed in the past year.

What new skills have been learned?

Things have been easier or clearer over the course of the past year.

And now going back to the version of you from about ten years ago.

Really seeing that version in your mind.

What are they wearing?

What are they thinking?

What was important to that person?

What did they hope for?

What were their goals?

And would this version of you from ten years ago be surprised by all that you were capable of today?

And you can invite all of these versions to line up.

The version of you from ten years ago,

Next to the version of you from last year,

Next to your current self.

Anyone else who wants to join the party.

Just take them in.

Gazing at them with love,

With forgiveness,

With excitement.

Maybe they are holding hands.

Or maybe they merge into one being,

Because they really are.

There is no before or after,

Then or now.

We are in constant iteration,

Constant evolution.

We are not static beings.

Our skills change every day,

Our mindsets change every day,

Our capacities change every day.

Just allowing your eyes to take in that flow,

The gentle movement that propels one version into the next,

To the next,

To the next.

Flowing through every moment of every day.

And now watching as the layers shed,

The parts of you that you don't need fall away,

And new parts grow in a constant stream,

Falling and rising,

Losing and gaining,

Dropping and reaching.

Come with this constant,

Subtle evolution of yourself.

Watch all the knowledge flowing through.

See all that you know now,

That you didn't know then.

Open up your mind to receive images or sensations or words.

Allow your mind to show you every tiny step that you have taken,

But didn't give yourself credit for.

To feel the competence that you have developed through trying and recalibrating and continuing to practice.

Feel pride in the projects that you have finished.

And now allow your mind to show you what comes next.

See yourself taking on something new or returning to something that you have paused.

See yourself celebrating that decision,

Prioritizing that commitment,

And noticing all the beautiful results in your life.

And know that anytime you feel like you aren't doing enough,

It likely means that you are doing too much to notice all that you are doing.

So slow down,

Reflect,

Take stock,

Celebrate,

And move on gracefully.
