This is a meditation to help create a greater consciousness of the world around us and our individual impact on it. It will help us realize how important we are to the whole, especially when we are in doubt of our own worth and value in this world.

Begin by sitting tall,

Hands resting on your legs,

Eyes closed.

Simply notice your inhale and your exhale.

Feel how in one moment you are able to fill yourself up and the next,

Empty yourself out.

Notice how the body moves with the breath.

Feel how with every inhale it expands and with every exhale it softens.

Now imagine a wave in the ocean.

See it as it rolls in towards the shoreline and makes its way up the sand,

Only to shift direction and receive back into the vastness of the ocean.

See how each wave does this over and over and over again.

The wave comes in.

The wave goes out.

Can you align your breath so that as you are seeing the waves come in,

You're inhaling.

And as you're watching the waves go out,

You exhale.

Inhale,

The wave comes in.

Exhale,

The wave returns.

Continue with this imagery and this breath.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Can you consider this thought that just like a wave,

You are connected to a greater whole.

How you roll onto the shore of your life and how that will contribute to the entire ocean of existence.

Consider that just like a wave,

That same air that you draw in every inhale to expand within yourself is the same air,

The very air that will make its way back out into the world for others to take in and draw out.

You are a part of a greater whole.

And how you show up,

How you roll into your life matters.

Very slowly just begin to release the imagery.

Let your breath return to normal.

Open your eyes.

Exhale.
