Hello friend.
Welcome to Authoring Hope.
The Coffee Shop Sessions.
There's something I love about sitting in the familiar atmosphere of a coffee shop.
The quiet conversations,
The background noise.
The warmth of a drink in your hands.
And the feeling that life is moving around you while you take a moment to pause within it.
These sessions are designed to help you sink into that pause and claim it.
And invite you to write a little with a space to reflect,
To breathe,
To journal.
And to reconnect with yourself for a little while.
I'll gently guide you through each session with prompts,
Reflections and writing exercises.
Designed to help you find a little clarity.
Process your thoughts.
And explore what's happening beneath the surface.
And while I loved this idea of a coffee shop.
You really can do this anywhere.
A quiet room at home.
A park bench,
A train journey.
Or a cosy corner of a library.
The important thing is simply this.
You're choosing to pause intentionally.
So wherever you are and whatever's in your cup.
I'm really glad you're here.
Today,
Our journey is called Bloom.
To soften,
Heal and become.
Before we begin.
Perhaps make yourself or gather yourself a drink.
Warm and comforting.
And choose a space that feels inviting to sit in.
Somewhere where you can soften for a while.
So much of life can ask us to rush,
To prove ourselves.
But growth does not always happen through pressure.
Sometimes growth happens through safety.
Through stillness.
Through finally allowing yourself to unfurl.
Open your notebook and take a breath.
As we take our time to softly arrive.
If you feel comfortable to do so,
Place a hand on your heart.
Take a slow inhale.
And an even slower exhale.
Slow inhale.
Even slower exhale.
Imagine yourself.
As a garden at the end of winter.
All the plants within this garden are resting.
Waiting.
Preparing for new growth.
We might consider.
What is ready to bloom again within us.
And we'll just sit with that idea in our mind's eye for a quiet moment.
What is ready to bloom again.
As we approach our first writing prompt.
For seven minutes,
We will write with this.
What parts of myself have I neglected whilst trying to survive?
What parts of myself have I neglected whilst trying to survive?
Without any kind of judgment.
To the best of our ability.
Perhaps we neglected our creativity.
Our rest,
Our joy.
Our body.
Our confidence.
For our tenderness.
Compassion.
And as we write for these seven minutes,
It might be exploring what deserves your attention again.
For 7 minutes.
What parts of myself have I neglected whilst trying to survive?
Coming to the close of our seven minutes.
Finish up any words or sentences or ideas.
As we come to prompt two.
What helps me feel most like myself.
What helps me feel most like myself.
You might consider moments where you feel grounded or calm.
Who is around you,
If anyone.
What environments might be nourishing you.
What habits or activities might be helping you feel alive instead of depleted.
Describe as many as you like.
For seven minutes,
What helps me feel most like myself.
Once more coming to the end of our seven minutes of writing.
As we move gently into prompt three.
What would it look like to treat myself with more gentleness?
What would it look like to treat myself with more gentleness?
This might be exploration of the pace at which you do things or boundaries or expectations It might be looking at your own inner dialogue or inner critics.
Right as though you are offering compassion to someone you deeply love.
For seven minutes,
What would it look like to treat myself with more gentleness?
Coming to the close of our seven minutes.
And the end of our third writing prompt.
You can take pause here if you'd like to take some sips of your drink or have a little stretch or a wiggle.
We'll settle now into our deeper dive writing task.
For 12 minutes,
I invite you to write a letter to yourself.
Cool.
You are allowed to bloom slowly.
This letter.
Will be encouraging.
Patient and honest.
You might be speaking to parts of yourself that feel exhausted or afraid.
Or insecure or in some way left behind.
You might remind yourself,
Perhaps.
The growth takes time.
Healing is not linear.
And the coming is not a race.
12 minutes,
Write a letter to yourself called You Are Allowed to Bloom Slowly.
You as we come to the end of our 12 minutes.
Take as long as you like to finish your sentence or your thought.
And indeed take as long as you like as we Close out our journey together,
But you can take as long as you like to read back through your words.
You might underline anything that feels nourishing.
As you explore this idea.
Of becoming.
And the version of you that is becoming.
Let it all come gently.
Flowers do not bloom by proving themselves worthy of spring.
They bloom because they were always meant to.
Thank you for sharing these moments with me.
I hope this session gave you a little space to pause amidst the familiar hum of life.
A quiet moment to gather your thoughts.
Conjure new ideas.
And let plans gently brew.
Farewell for now.
And until next time.
Keep writing.
Keep reflecting.
And keep authoring hope.
