Please get yourself comfortable.
You can start just by keeping the eyes gently open.
Let the gaze be soft.
Relaxed and focus.
Perhaps resting on a view in front of you.
If you have a wall or a bell.
You can just let the eyes settle there,
Without effort.
And ultimately we're not trying to do anything in meditation.
The highest meditation is actually non-meditation.
Meaning that we come to a place where we stop the war.
We stopped the struggle.
And we allow everything just to be.
As it is.
Nothing to improve.
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to achieve.
What we're doing is simply resting the mind.
In its natural state.
And we allow ourselves to do absolutely nothing.
Of course there is still a quality of wakefulness.
We're not spacing out.
We're not falling asleep.
But neither are we analysing.
Control me.
Or directing.
We're just resting.
Not as a technique.
But as a recognition.
Effortless awareness.
Aware of itself.
So whatever arises.
A thought of wanting.
A thought of not wanting.
There's no need to follow it.
No need to push it away.
If you don't feed it.
It simply dissolves on its own.
Like a spark that fades in open space.
Let go of striving.
Let go of wanting.
Let go of grasping.
We're not wanting anything to be other than it is.
So if sadness appears,
Or anger.
Or boredom.
Or restlessness.
So what?
Let it be exactly as it is.
Don't fight it.
And don't add fuel to the fire.
Simply rest.
And notice.
The moment you don't interfere.
Everything begins to self-liberate.
Thoughts release themselves.
Emotions unwind on their own.
Nothing needs to be done.
As you remain like this.
You might notice the body softening.
Tensions loosening.
Knots and tying themselves Let the body move if it needs to move.
Let a breath deepen,
If it wants to deepen.
No control.
Just natural release.
It's not the appearances that are the problem.
Sounds.
Sensations.
Thoughts.
Feelings.
These are not the issues.
They arise and pass naturally.
A difficulty comes.
From our grasping.
From taking things to be solid.
To be mine.
To be something we must hold on to.
Or push away.
And that's where the struggle begins.
That's where the fire is fed.
So just notice that.
And instead of feeding it.
Just rest again.
Resting the mind in its natural state.
Is like returning to the source.
Coming home.
More precisely.
Recognising that you never left.
Awareness is already here.
Open.
Spacious.
Clear.
Naturally at peace.
There is a simple knowing.
Effortless.
Uncontrived.
You might notice this quality of equanimity.
A natural equality of all experiences.
They arise within awareness.
And dissolve back into awareness.
Like waves in the ocean.
Never separate from the ocean itself.
Everything that appears.
Through singing.
Hearing.
Feeling.
Thinking.
Is like this.
Appearing yet empty.
Present yet insubstantial.
So why fight anything?
When there is resistance.
You can feel the contraction.
The stress.
The suffering.
See that clearly when it happens.
And in seeing it.
Let it go.
No force needed.
Just relax back again.
Into simple,
Open awareness.
Nothing to hold.
Nothing to reject.
Just this,
As it is.
Rest here.
You you Bye!
You
