This is a guided meditation to help you understand the nature of thoughts and to learn how to see them with wisdom. In coming to understand the empty nature of thoughts, we can transcend the negative impact and grip they may be having on us. To see them as insubstantial clouds in the sky and to refrain from fighting them can lead us to a new found sense of ease and freedom.

Transcript

Sitting or lying down comfortably for keeping the mind alert and awake pay no attention to your thoughts don't fight them let them be whatever way they are if you go into battle with them it gives them power and strength so just ignore them do nothing about them you don't have to stop the thinking just refrain from being interested you it is this disinterest in them this detachment that will liberate them they self liberate so don't hold them don't cling to them that's all you need to do you no particular thought or idea can lead us to the mind's natural state only silence can take us to the mind's natural state you and not the imagination or idea of silence but silence itself you you so when we let go of the thoughts and see through the thoughts as simply empty phenomena that float like clouds in the sky the mind will naturally revert to its natural state of silence you you if painful emotions arise we learn to separate ourselves from them and simply watch them you this detachment this neutral observation is the first step to waking up to freedom we simply stand back and observe you and all the events will go on happening by themselves but they lose their sting and don't have the same impact when we learn to observe objectively you you you you it is our mind's involvement and reaction which is all that matters here you the reactivity of pain and the desire for pleasure are all in the mind so if we look with wisdom all this pushing and pulling will change you this desire and aversion are simply disturbances of the senses and if we learn to see them with equal taste then there will be peace and letting go contentment you letting go of these desires and these reactions brings deep contentment it's not indifference it's not coldness or sterility it brings a deep sense of fullness and openness you so we just keep practicing you learning to sit relearning how to be you without doing anything without being anyone without becoming anything you you

Enjoyed the relatively minimal guidance and longer periods of silence.

That was fantastic. The wise, calm words, interspersed with silence, were exactly what I needed. I appreciated that there was no music, just a powerful stillness between the words, which were just enough. Thank you.
