Welcome to the quiet field.
Find a comfortable place to settle.
You don't need to do anything right now.
You don't need to arrive perfectly.
You just need to be here,
Exactly as you are in this moment.
And just take a breath in.
And let go.
In this space,
Where you are right now,
We're going to open a sacred circle together.
A circle of safety.
A circle of stillness.
And today we're calling in horse energy.
Because horses know something we often forget.
That you don't have to speak to be heard.
Quiet is never empty.
It is a presence and meaning,
Not an absence.
That presence is enough.
And turn gently with me now,
Or simply face each direction in your mind's eye.
Let yourself be seen,
Even just a little.
Welcome,
White Horse.
We are grateful you are here.
To the south,
The direction of warmth of the heart,
We call in the chestnut horse.
She is one who wears her feelings on her sleeves.
The one who taught us that feeling deeply is not a weakness.
She stands in the full sun,
Steady and warm,
And she holds the energy of emotional truth.
Welcome,
Chestnut horse.
You are here.
To the West,
The direction of releasing,
Of letting go,
We call in the dark horse,
The one who has travelled far,
The one who carries old journeys in her bones.
She stands at the edge of the water,
Head low and breathing.
She holds the energy of surrender,
Not giving up,
But giving over.
Trusting that the river knows where to go.
Welcome,
Dark Horse.
We are grateful you are here.
To the north,
The direction of wisdom of deep earth,
We call in the grey horse.
Ancient and unhurried,
She has seen many seasons come and go,
And she is not afraid of winter.
She holds the energy of patience,
The knowing that healing moves at its own pace,
And that slow is not the same as stopped.
Welcome,
Painted horse.
We are grateful you are here.
And above us the sky,
The stars,
The great open,
And below us the earth,
The roots,
The ground that holds us.
We are held,
We are enclosed,
We are safe.
The circle is made and you may begin.
Within this beautiful,
Sacred circle,
You're settling into the meditation.
Imagine you're standing in a field.
A beautiful,
Wild field with wildflowers,
Fresh grass.
And it's so quiet in this amazing,
Ordinary field.
The long grass moves slowly.
It's a little bit cool.
There is soft light,
Maybe early morning or late afternoon.
And not far from you,
There is this beautiful horse.
She's not looking at you,
But she's just there,
Grazing,
Breathing,
Being.
You don't need to approach her,
You don't need to do anything at all.
You just stand in the field,
With her.
And notice what your body wants to do right now.
Maybe it wants to fill in the silence.
Maybe it wants to help somehow.
To walk towards her,
Or to make something happen.
See if you can just let that impulse be there,
Without following it.
Because here is what the horse knows.
She is not waiting for you to fix anything.
She is not waiting for you to say the right thing,
Or to arrive fully healed,
Or to have it all figured out.
She is just here,
And she is asking you to be here too.
Somewhere inside you there may be a quiet place.
A place that learned to go still,
In order to go on.
Maybe you went quiet to survive something.
Maybe you tucked away yourself,
Because the world moved too fast,
Or asked too much,
Or didn't have room for you at all.
That quietness kept you together,
Nothing else could.
It's not a flaw,
It's a wisdom.
Let the horse stand with you in that place.
She doesn't need you to explain it.
She has her own quiet and she understands.
And just breathe in.
And as you breathe out,
Let yourself take up just a little more space in this field.
Not pushing,
Not performing,
Or wondering how to be in expectation of others.
But just here,
As you,
Feel how this energy is grounding you deeper,
Helping you stand up taller.
And be present in the here and now.
Notice the ground beneath your feet.
The horse feels it too.
The same earth holding you both.
You are not alone in this field.
You don't have to open,
You don't have to share,
You don't have to arrive at any particular feeling before this meditation is over.
Healing sometimes looks like standing next to someone and simply breathing.
One degree,
That's all.
Just one degree more open than you were when you arrived here today.
And gently now begin to come back.
Feel the weight of your body where you're sitting,
Taking a slow breath in and out.
We close our sacred circle with gratitude.
To the north we thank the Paint Horse,
Guardian of patience and deep time.
To the west we thank the Dark Horse,
Guardian of releasing and trust.
To the south,
We thank the chestnut horse,
Guardian of the open heart.
And to the east,
We thank the white horse,
Guardian of beginnings and gentle courage.
Above and below,
Thank you.
Our sacred circle stands.
And he can always come back.
It's never broken.
And take a deep breath in.
And when you're ready,
Bring that field with you.
The horse is still there.
She always will be there.
Whenever the world gets too loud,
Whenever you forget that quiet is not empty,
Come back to the field.
She'll be waiting,
Not to fix you,
Just to stand with you.
Blessings on your path.
Until next time,
Go gently.
Welcome back.
And welcome home.
