In this practice, we use the power of the imagination to cultivate light and awareness to bring a sense of rest and relaxation to the body mind and spirit. The goal of this meditation is to cultivate a light from within and use that light to build awareness of the physical and energetic bodies. I invite you to lay down while you listen but take the most comfortable position available.

Cultivating light and awareness.

Please come into a comfortable seated position.

You can sit in a chair or you can sit on the floor,

Maybe cross legged.

Or you can also come laying down in the position known as Savasana.

You can also lay down on your couch or your bed,

But just find a place that you can feel comfortable and undisturbed for the next couple of minutes.

Begin to settle into stillness and begin to breathe gently deep in and out through the nose.

We're looking for a nice soft rhythmic pace that you can maintain with a gentle balance between ease and effort.

Begin to focus all of your attention and all of your awareness between the eyebrows at the third eye center.

As you begin to concentrate there,

You notice a light start to cultivate at the eyebrow center.

This light brings with it a sense of warmth,

Rest,

And relaxation.

Each time you inhale,

The light grows brighter.

And each time you exhale,

The light expands with the rest and relaxation.

On your next breath in,

See the light grow brighter.

And on the exhale,

The light expands from the eyebrow center,

Spreading across the forehead.

Keep breathing and feel the expansion of the light down the sides of the face to the ears,

To both eyes,

Nose,

Mouth,

Until the head is immersed in this warm,

Relaxing light.

Taking a deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Let the light stream down the sides of the neck and throat to pool at your heart center.

Each time you inhale,

The light grows stronger and brighter at the heart center.

From the heart center,

We breathe in and on the exhale,

The light streams across the collarbones,

Down the shoulders,

To the back of the arms and biceps,

Forearms,

Back of the hands,

Out all fingertips,

Until the light collects and pools in the center of the palms.

Returning to the light at the heart center,

Take a deep breath in and on the exhale,

Let the light stream down the abdomen,

Releasing all tension and stress from the day so far,

Until the light begins to pool and collect at the navel center.

Take a deep breath in and on the exhale,

The light streams down to the lower back and along the entire spine,

Releasing the upper back,

Mid back,

And lower back.

Taking a deep breath in and to the pool of the light at the navel center,

On the exhale,

The light streams down the sides of the hips and pelvic to release the buttocks,

Both thighs,

Knees,

Calves,

Heels,

Until the light then begins to pool at the feet and shoots out all toes,

Until beginning to collect again at the soles of the feet.

You are taking your awareness to the pools of light at the feet,

The pools of light at the navel center,

Palms of the hands,

Heart center,

And the third eye.

Each time we breathe in,

All lights grow brighter.

And each time we exhale,

All lights expand.

Eventually,

All the lights merge in a collective warm and relaxing light that encompasses everything physically and mentally.

Stay here for a few moments,

Growing and expanding your light.

Once you feel like you cannot expand anymore,

Search the body for spots that are lacking light,

Lacking attention,

That you can begin to focus on and begin to cultivate the light.

Once that spot has found light,

Move to the next spot.

Begin to bring all of your attention back to the third eye.

And as you breathe in,

Begin to release the light.

And as you exhale,

Let the light dissipate.

Again,

Inhale,

Release in control of the light,

And exhale,

Let it disappear until you are resting in a comfortable and familiar darkness.

Become more aware of the sounds that are in the room and the possible smells.

Allow yourself to become more aware of your body in the space and place.

And when you are ready,

Begin to wake up the body coming fully back to this place by wiggling your fingers,

Your toes.

Turning your head from side to side.

And when you are ready,

You can sit on up.

I thank you for practicing.

Remember the breath.

Check your vibrations.

Spark your soul.

Namaste.
