Today we begin our Loving Kindness module, a series of five session exploring Loving Kindness. Some folks think that sounds pretty sappy… so perhaps Caring or Friendliness sounds better? This is our muscle of caring about people. Not only can this feel really good to exercise. It also makes life better in a about a million different ways. There’s lots of methods for exercising this muscle. One of them is something that will probably be familiar to you. It’s when we see someone smiling and laughing and suddenly, we feel like smiling and laughing ourselves. Even if we’re not even sure why. That kind of happiness is weirdly contagious. We can learn to build this natural response into a full-on habit, so it happens more often and in more kinds of scenarios.
