Hello,
And welcome to your meditation practice.
Thank you for joining me today.
As we begin,
Take a few moments to adjust yourself into a comfortable position.
You may be seated on the floor,
In a chair,
Or maybe laying down on your mat or in a bed.
Wherever you are,
Allowing the body to relax,
Softening the muscles in the face,
Releasing any holding in the jaw,
In the tongue,
In the lips.
Feel your entire mouth become soft.
Allow the weight of your mouth to release the muscles further up in the face,
Letting the cheeks relax,
The eyelids,
The eyebrows,
And the forehead.
Letting the muscles of the face just hang off of the bones.
Let the shoulders and collarbones release as that softness releases the muscles in your neck as well.
Feel the arms releasing as you bring your attention to the palms of each of your hands,
Feeling the pulsing sensation of the palms of your hands,
Feeling the pulsing in each of your fingers,
Releasing any expectations with how you think this is supposed to feel,
And just letting yourself feel what is there right now.
Maybe the pulsing is really quiet.
Maybe it's quite loud.
It's not important how it is.
Letting yourself watch what is already there without the need to change or fix anything at all.
Find some softness within your belly.
Even if there's pain there.
Just checking in with that pain.
And scanning your entire body now,
Noticing any sensations of pain or discomfort.
And rather than distracting or running away from these less than pleasant sensations,
Try instead to sit all of your attention fully in those areas.
And as you sit in this pain or discomfort,
Envision a small light growing in that space.
And watch that light pulsing with the rhythm of your own pulse.
Watching that light growing and expanding with the rhythm of your own breath.
Each inhale,
The light grows a little bit more.
And each exhale,
The light expands and diffuses a little bit more.
Then the peers start quieting.
Notice what this feels like for you.
Even if you're having some difficulty seeing this light,
Letting your awareness simply be the light.
So focusing all of your attention deeply on this area of pain or discomfort.
Maybe you'll start to hold the breath or breathe faster.
And practicing cultivating a sense of peace and ease in this uncomfortable area.
So even if you're not feeling peace and ease in this moment,
Remember a time when you have felt peace and ease.
Imagine a time when you have been pain free.
That sense is still within you.
So bringing that sense into this present moment.
Seeing and feeling yourself so fully in this state of peace.
Seeing yourself without any worries about the way you feel about any conditions you may have.
And with each breath,
Allow this sense to take over your body a little bit more.
Nothing about this practice should be rigid.
Allow this practice to be how it is to be fluid.
Even if your goal entering this practice was to change the way that you feel.
Now just allow yourself to feel the way that you already feel.
Imagine if those feelings are unpleasant.
The more we push unpleasant feelings away,
The louder they can become.
What we resist persists.
So instead of resisting,
Instead of pushing away and distracting,
Allow yourself to feel what needs to be felt.
Allow any natural release to come.
Letting tears fall if they want to fall.
Letting the body tremble if it wants to tremble.
Letting the body tremble.
And feel on a deep level how this release was necessary.
Find yourself in that magical space that exists right after an emotional release.
That sense of quiet,
Of calm,
Of acceptance.
Find yourself here.
Letting the body tremble.
And you do not find this practice by accident.
If you are hearing and feeling these words,
You are meant to hear and feel these words.
These are messages meant directly for you.
You may take this practice with you wherever you go.
Any situation in life when you feel a reaction coming up,
Let that be your cue to drop in to contemplate where this reaction is coming from.
This is a daily practice for the rest of our lives here on earth.
So be kind,
Gentle,
And patient with yourself as we will fall into these states of peace and acceptance and out of them naturally.
There is no linear path when it comes to healing.
The path is a spiral.
And may you bring your awareness to every point in the spiral.
May you feel pain when you need to feel pain.
Fear when you need to feel anger.
And peace when you need to feel peace.
And throughout all the ups and downs of your journey,
May you always feel that deep sense of love and security.
That deep knowing that we are always exactly where we need to be.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
