Hello,

I'm Richard Willis and welcome to your stargazing relaxation.

To begin with,

Find a quiet,

Comfortable place where you can relax.

You can do this sitting comfortably or lying down.

Take a moment to get into a position where you feel supported and comfy.

Before we begin the main relaxation,

We'll do a simple settler to relax the body and mind.

So allow your eyes to close and just begin by taking some deep breaths.

In through your nose and out through your nose.

With each breath,

Really let go as you breathe out.

Like a sigh,

Imagine breathing out any tension.

Just really letting go.

Deep breaths,

Relax.

Then let your breathing settle into its own natural rhythm.

And just notice how your body feels,

Becoming aware of the whole body.

The whole body settling,

Resting.

And allow your muscles to relax.

Relax your face and jaw,

Releasing any tension.

Soften your neck and shoulder muscles,

Relax your arms and hands,

Relax your abdomen,

Allowing you to breathe freely and easily.

And relax your legs and feet,

Letting your whole body just relax.

And now allow your imagination to drift.

Drift and let a wonderful scene emerge.

Imagine that you're sat on a soft,

Grassy hillside after sunset.

It's so peaceful and quiet out here in the country.

Your clothes are providing just the right amount of warmth.

And the night air is a comfortable temperature as you gaze towards the horizon where the sun has set.

Take in the scene around you,

The shapes of trees.

Notice the different types,

Notice the contours of the hills and the warm colors of the sunset.

Look at how the colors mix and blend together like a magnificent canvas.

The last rays of light from the day,

Piercing through the few clouds left in the sky.

See the outlines of buildings,

Civilization far in the distance.

Far from you in your peaceful sanctuary,

Out here in the countryside.

Hear the sounds of the country,

Crickets chirping,

A gentle breeze.

Feel your body relax further.

Notice now the sky growing darker and the shapes in the distance now in silhouette.

Some lights turning on as the last trace of light at the horizon fades.

See how the colors have now changed from rich and bright to pastels as it's dimmed and as night falls.

Lie back and gaze up at the vast expanse of sky above you.

Feel the relaxation as your muscles rest,

As though melting into the ground,

Well supported by the grassy hillside.

Relax,

Catch the scent of the country air,

You can now see the first stars emerging,

Bright white stars,

Stark in contrast to the ever deepening night around them.

Immerse yourself in the ocean of the night sky,

360 degrees all around you,

The feeling of immense space,

Freedom.

As you continue to look,

The sky has grown darker still,

And you faintly make out more stars,

Seeing new stars for the first time in your peripheral vision.

Curious how many more will reveal themselves to you as you scan the skies.

You see more stars,

And then even more,

Until gleaming above you is a pitch black night,

Sprinkled with countless beautiful stars.

So bright,

So clear,

It's like the universe has put on a display just for you,

Comfortable and warm in your clothes,

With the cool air on your skin.

Watch and absorb yourself in the sight of the cosmos above you,

The sparkling crystals of stars stretching across the night sky.

As you gaze more deeply,

You can see the differences between the stars,

Some fainter,

Some brighter,

Some clustered as though huddled together,

Some twinkling.

Maybe you're spotting constellations,

Or even creating shapes of your own imagining,

Maybe allowing your mind to wander to thoughts of the universe,

Its vastness.

The stars burning so far away,

Ancient stars,

How many with planets in their gravitational embrace.

How many swirling galaxies,

The awe of the universe,

The wonder,

The deep presence of life.

Rest now in the sights,

The sounds,

The feelings of the moment,

Take some time out now to enjoy this,

Rest,

Relax.

Feel the calm,

The peace,

Completely relax.

It'll be time to return from your star relaxation,

So now use the power of your imagination to transport you back in whatever way feels appropriate for you.

Back to where your body is sitting or lying down,

And get a sense of the body,

The feeling of contact with whatever you're sitting or lying on.

And just bring some movement back to the body,

Moving the fingers and toes,

And then open your eyes,

Open your eyes,

Bringing yourself fully back into your surroundings.

And take a nice stretch,

Well done,

And bringing that great feeling of peace and relaxation with you.
