Hello and welcome little mermaids and mermen to our magical underwater adventure.

Shelley Mermaid here.

Today we will explore the depths of the ocean through mindful movement.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position.

Imagining ourselves floating weightlessly in the water.

Make sure that your feet are out in front of you for part of our adventure later on.

Close your eyes and take a big deep breath in and let it out.

Good job.

When we take our breaths in and out today let's make sure we fill our belly up like a big puffer fish.

Okay so when we breathe in we fill our bellies up like a big puffer fish and then we squeeze it out all the way when we breathe out.

Okay try again.

Breathe in make your belly big big big and out.

Good job.

Let's breathe again.

Breathe in and out.

That's a very good job.

A lot of what we're going to do today is breathing.

When we take deep breaths it can really help us wake up and feel relaxed and cozy at the same time.

This is something that I think is really important for humans along with mermaids and mermen.

Let's do some more.

Are you ready?

Okay take a deep breath in feeling the cool ocean air fill your lungs and exhale slowly releasing any tension you may be holding on to.

Very good.

Now inhale again through your nose and out.

Good job.

Now let's start our adventure by swaying gently from side to side like the graceful seaweed dancing in the currents.

Feeling the rhythm of the ocean as you sway.

Imagining yourself as a beautiful mermaid or merman.

Sway back and forth.

Good job.

Now let's stretch our arms way way out wide reaching for the shimmering sunlight filtering through the water above.

Stretch stretch stretch and release.

Repeat two more times.

Let's do it together.

Okay feeling the warmth of the Sun on your skin reach reach reach reach all the way out spreading those fingers and let your arms down.

One more time this time stretch them way way up put your arms up and spread those fingers and you can release and put them down.

Good job.

Okay next let's flutter our mermaid tails by kicking our legs gently back and forth.

Imagine gliding effortlessly through the water surrounded by colorful fish and playful dolphins.

Flutter flutter flutter move those little feet.

Good job.

Oh that feels nice.

Now let's bring our hands together in front of our hearts.

Imagine you have a pearl necklace on and you're putting your hands right in front of the beautiful pearl.

Close your eyes and take a moment to listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean all around you.

What can you hear?

As we come to the end of our adventure let's take one final deep breath in filling ourselves with gratitude for this magical experience.

And as we exhale let's gently open our eyes bringing our underwater adventure to a close.

Thank you for joining me on this mindful mermaid journey.

Remember you carry the magic of the ocean within you wherever you go.

See you next time.
