Highlights

  • Half-Day Silent Meditation Retreat

Details

In our fast-paced, modern world, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A silent meditation retreat offers a chance to discover the natural qualities of peace and compassion that arise when you reconnect to the quiet wisdom of your heart. In the container of noble silence, we will practice observing experience as it unfolds—thoughts, sensations, and emotions arising and passing away. Rather than trying to quiet or control the mind, the emphasis is on mindful awareness, steady attention, and allowing things to be as they are. The retreat will include guided teachings and practice, silent sitting, walking meditation, and time for questions and reflections. It is suitable for both newer and experienced meditators; no prior meditation experience is necessary.

Testimonials

info

I had always wanted to try a silent retreat but a multi-day retreat felt too intimidating. When I saw this half-day retreat I thought this would be a perfect way to dip a toe in. I was very pleasantly surprised! The silence felt supportive rather than intimidating. I left feeling calmer, more connected, and totally nourished from just a few hours of silence. Laura created a space that was genuinely welcoming and supportive. Her style is really relatable and she did a great job making the container feel safe and supportive. Thanks, Laura!

I don’t usually meditate in groups, and most of my practice has been on my own, but I was looking for something with more depth than what I normally do at home. This retreat exceeded my expectations. Laura’s teaching was clear, grounded, and spacious, and I appreciated both the depth and breadth of her instruction throughout the day. What surprised me most was how supported I felt by the shared container of silence. Being held by the collective intention of the group made it much easier to settle in. The walking meditation was completely new for me and unexpectedly helpful, especially for working with a busy mind. It was a great first retreat experience, and I’m genuinely looking forward to attending many more.
