Details
Have you ever dreamed of taking your yoga and meditation practice to the Norwegian fjords? I have. A few years ago, I set out on an “expedition” to find a truly unforgettable spot for a yoga retreat—away from the tourist crowds, in a place where Norwegians themselves go hiking and exploring. I found it. My Norwegian friends like to say, with a chuckle, “You really discovered the most magical spot in Norway!” And the fact that so many guests return year after year? That’s the highest compliment I could imagine. So yes, me and our “professional yoga retreaters,” as I like to call them, completely fell in love with this place… maybe it’s your turn next? This retreat is led by Mari Savela, my dear colleague and a brilliant, experienced, and caring yoga teacher.

Sagafjord Hotel is a charming boutique hotel by the fjord in Sæbø, surrounded by steep mountains and serene nature. The hotel offers a peaceful retreat where guests can relax, enjoy local cuisine with fjord views, and explore scenic hiking trails and historic surroundings. Built with timber walls from Valdres and a vintage oven from a former school, the hotel’s roots trace back to a local baker’s bold vision. Today, Sagafjord combines comfort, tradition, and warm hospitality in the heart of Sunnmøre.
