To best enjoy this meditation,

Have bergamot essential oil in your aromatherapy diffuser,

Or you might like to have a drop on a tissue to be able to gently waft under your nose,

As we share in this mindful moment.

To begin,

I invite you to simply get comfortable in the position that you're in.

Feel into your physical body.

Let your breath come naturally and evenly.

Relax into this moment,

Letting bergamot enter into that breath.

Bergamot essential oil is an optimistic fragrance.

It is beautifully uplifting,

As well as calming,

Making it a perfect pick-me-up when you are feeling low.

Bergamot is full of cheer.

Now,

Often we can hide behind a facade of cheerfulness.

We put on a happy face when deep inside we are struggling with limiting beliefs and self-judgment,

Or just taking on too much on our own.

So let's work on bringing joyfulness within us too.

And as bergamot enters your nostrils,

Let it bring its joy into your being.

Bergamot is here to tell you that you are lovable,

You are worthy of love.

You are wonderful just the way you are,

Even if you feel less than perfect sometimes.

You judge yourself far more harshly than you would anyone else.

Instead,

I invite you to treat yourself like a friend.

How would you act towards a friend when they're feeling low?

Try to do the same for you.

As you breathe in bergamot,

Let the aroma fill your heart with loving-kindness for a loved one.

How does that feel?

Experience this emotion.

Now I invite you to turn this feeling towards yourself.

Breathe in love and self-compassion for you too.

It can feel like the world is solely upon your shoulders,

As if there is no one to turn to,

Or that you have to be the brave one,

Soldiering on,

Not asking for help because you don't want to put pressure on anyone else,

Nor look like you're not coping.

You can feel the love of your shoulders,

As if you are the brave one,

And you look like you're not coping.

Bergamot is here to encourage you that there is no need to feel this way.

There is always someone you can reach out to.

Family,

Friends,

Support services in your community.

You could also ask for guidance and support from divine sources,

The energy of the universe.

Do not feel like the weight of your problems must be all your own to carry.

You are worthy of support.

The aroma of bergamot is creating a safe space for you to share your feelings and your woes.

You may like to journal these feelings,

Share them with someone else,

Or just send them out to the infinite.

Yes,

You are worthy of support,

But you also need the courage to accept it.

It can feel just as difficult to let someone else help you as it is to be needing the help.

I invite you to think of a time when you helped out a family member or a friend,

Or you did some other good deed.

How did that make you feel?

Take a moment to experience those emotions.

Now I want you to realize that if you accept help from others,

You are giving them the opportunity to feel that same happiness,

Allowing others to provide support is a kindness in itself.

It helps make others feel needed and useful,

And it adds meaning to their lives.

Bergamot Oil is sending you this message today.

As you breathe in bergamot,

It brings with it the courage to ask for what you need,

As well as to do what you need to do.

Breathe this courage and bergamot's optimism into your chest,

Filling your heart space,

Your abdomen,

Your sacral cavity.

Feel this joy and courage growing into your legs and your arms until your fingers and toes tingle with excitement.

Feel this joy and courage spread up your spine and over your scalp and your face.

It makes your spine just a little bit lengthier so that you may stand taller.

Your head is lifted,

Your chin is strong.

You can take on your battles with your own strength and with the support of others around you,

Since you are not alone.

Wriggle into your toes and your fingers as this optimism fills you.

It brings awakening to your body with each bergamot-centered breath.

And when you are ready,

You can return to your day,

Taking bergamot with you for support.
