Hi,
My name is Robert Aceves and I welcome you to this guided meditation to quiet the mind and reduce stress.
Let's begin by taking a moment to allow your body to settle into a comfortable position.
You may close your eyes or keep them slightly open,
Allowing your spine to lift,
Your shoulders to soften,
And today we will practice simply stopping.
Let's begin by taking a full breath in and a long breath out.
Now simply notice what it's like to just stop.
To simply be still and present in this moment.
So you may notice thoughts,
Bodily sensations,
Sounds,
Just noticing what it's like to be alive in just this moment.
So simply stopping.
Each time you find your mind somewhere else,
Imagine that you're playing a game of freeze,
Inviting a sense of stopping.
So and continue practicing like this for a little while.
Noticing what it's like to just stop,
To simply be still and in this present moment.
So so and notice if your thoughts have gone down.
Notice how your body feels after being sitting still for a while.
Notice some of the sounds around you.
Just noticing what it's like to be alive in just this present moment.
So so so so simply stopping.
So and every time you find your mind going somewhere else,
Imagine that you're freezing,
Welcoming that sense of stopping once again.
So so so so so so so and continue practicing this stopping of the mind and your body for a little bit longer.
So so so so so so so so so so that's it and as we near the end,
Finishing with a deep breath in and a long breath out.
Great.
You may open your eyes now.
And today I'm going to ask you to try a minute to arrive practice.
When you start any new activity today,
Maybe a work meeting,
Maybe a meal,
Practice stopping and practicing one minute of silence to give yourself time to stop and become more present to the next activity.
Thank you so much for your time and I'll talk to you next time.
