Sometimes our mind is all over the place, and it needs a specific place to land as we try to settle. This practice is wonderful for beginners and those with beginner's mind.. a pairing of breath and counting to allow ourselves to slowly arrive into the present. Let yourself be in whatever position is comfortable for your body and needs, and whenever the mind goes somewhere else, just kindly guided it back... "hello friend.. let's go here now." Our breath is always here to return to.

Take a moment to check in.

Notice your sense of energy.

Noticing your sense of alertness.

And perhaps even noting to yourself what percentage of you is present right now.

Without any judgment.

We'll do a meditation where we are going to be aligning our breath with account and our awareness.

As I take a breath in.

And then exhale that breath.

In your mind.

Mentally say one.

And on the next breath.

Breathing in.

And out.

And out fully.

In and out.

For.

In and out.

In and out.

Eight.

Now going back down.

Out.

And now let your body return to natural breathing.

You might notice there's a slight shift in your sense of energy.

Perhaps you were breathing a little bit more quickly and exhaling more completely than you usually do.

Notice the state of your mind.

Whether there's any shift in focus or clarity.

And one more time checking in with yourself around what percentage of you is here now.

It might be less or more or about the same.

But perhaps you notice even a small difference of being just a little bit more here.

Sensing a little bit more of your body.

And being prepared as you take the next few breaths to start bringing your awareness back.

Finishing by blinking open the eyes.
