We'll start our practice by taking three complete breaths,
Breathing in and breathing out.
And as you take the next few breaths,
Allow yourself to sense yourself here and now in the present.
Taking a moment to connect with the setting that you're in using your senses.
You may notice sounds around you or the temperature of the room or space against your skin.
And then drawing your awareness inward into yourself.
As you take the next few breaths,
I invite you to come and bring your awareness to the center of the chest,
The right side of the physical heart.
You may simply mentally draw your awareness there,
Or if it's helpful,
You can rest the palm of your hand there.
And as you breathe with each breath,
See what it would feel like to offer yourself these phrases.
I can trust myself.
I can make good choices.
My feelings are valid.
I know what I want.
I trust myself.
My feelings are valid.
I can make good choices.
I know what I want.
And as you continue with this practice,
Invite yourself to just curiously observe what happens.
What happens in your body when you offer these phrases.
Noticing if there's places where the mind stays and other times where it wants to wander away all without any judgment.
I trust myself.
I can make good choices.
My feelings are valid.
I know what I want.
And if somewhere in your body,
There's tension that starts to arise,
See if you can invite yourself to gently let it go as you exhale without any expectations of what this practice is supposed to do for you.
Merely offering and observing.
I trust myself.
I can make good choices.
My feelings are valid.
I know what I want.
Taking a few moments to either repeat the whole series,
Or perhaps whichever one of those phrases really calls to you and offering it to yourself.
One with each breath.
When we get quiet,
We know what medicine we need.
Complete the practice with three breaths.
And when you're ready,
Bringing your awareness to the present moment.
