Here's a short mindfulness practice designed to help us let go of thinking and come back to the breath,
To the present moment.
So first,
Finding a comfortable sitting,
Standing or lying position.
Closing your eyes or leaving your eyes open with a soft gaze and taking a nice long deep breath.
So first,
Noticing the movements of breathing,
Perhaps the rise and fall of the abdomen or the chest.
Just allowing your attention to lightly rest there and now introducing a short count.
As we breathe in,
We count one and breathing out,
We count one.
Just counting silently,
Breathing in two,
Breathing out we count two,
Breathing in three,
Breathing out three and so on at our own pace,
In our own time.
And if you wish,
You can continue,
Perhaps returning your attention to your breath and counting at other times during your day.
