Welcome.
Today I'll be guiding you in a meditation to help you shift your energy.
This practice is particularly useful when you're feeling a bit out of sorts and need to reset.
Let me firstly remind you that it's okay to sometimes feel a little discombobulated,
That we don't need to,
Nor is it possible,
To feel great all of the time.
However,
Sometimes nothing in particular is wrong in our lives,
But we allow external events and opinions to weigh us down and affect our energy.
When this is happening,
It's possible to use meditation and mindset training to change our perspective and outlook.
Let's begin by making yourself comfortable.
This meditation is best practiced lying down,
But can be done in a seated position if you prefer.
If you're lying down,
Consider supporting your head on a small pillow and the knees over a rolled blanket.
If you're in a seated position,
Please allow your back to be supported so that you can be comfortable and relaxed.
Send your attention to the breath and observe the flow of inhale and exhale.
Feel the breath flowing in naturally and feel it flowing out naturally.
Let your mind begin to settle as you focus on your breath.
Is your breath shallow or deep?
And if you feel like it's a little bit shallow,
Allow it to lengthen over the next few breaths so that it's comfortable,
But full.
You might begin to feel movement in your belly and ribs as you do this.
Let's scan the body for any of the tension that you've accumulated while feeling out of sorts and practice letting it go.
Notice your feet and your toes.
Give them a little wiggle and let them relax.
Be aware of the lower legs.
If you have any tension in the ankles or calves,
Let it go.
Moving your awareness up,
Softening the fronts and backs of your thighs.
Relax the glutes.
Soften your belly.
Let's take a deep belly breath.
Hold at the top for a moment then let it all go.
Melt the middle of your back and your shoulders into the floor.
Let your arms relax all the way down to the wrists,
Palms and fingertips.
Soften your throat,
Jaw and tongue.
Notice if there's any tension holding in the muscles of your face,
Cheeks,
Forehead or temples and let it all go.
Let your eyes become still and soft.
Just watch your next breath come and go.
In this moment,
Everything is okay.
Now think for a moment of the energy you would like to embody for the rest of the day or the rest of this week.
If you've been feeling stressed and rushed,
Maybe you'd like to invite more peace or calm.
If you've been feeling energetically depleted,
Maybe you want to be energized or vibrant.
If you've been feeling a lack of enthusiasm,
Maybe you wish to bring in joy or curiosity.
Take a moment to see which words come to mind.
Don't overthink it.
Choose something that fits for right now and know that you can change the word or the words tomorrow or in the future if you want to.
Pick one or two of those words that resonate with how you'd like to show up for yourself and for those around you today and turn those words into an I am statement in the present tense.
For example,
I am patient.
I am kind.
I am energized.
Shifting from what you want to be as if it's somewhere in the future to acknowledge that you already hold the energy within you and you can embody it by setting your intention clearly.
Start to repeat the words or phrase to yourself silently or spoken quietly.
If you don't feel it immediately,
Don't worry.
Just continue to repeat the words to yourself.
If your intention,
Those words that you just chose had a color,
What would that color be?
If this phrase you're repeating to yourself had a color,
What would that color be?
Is it a solid color or does it shimmer?
Does it stay constantly the same or does it have shades that might move and change?
Is the color of your intention opaque and bold or a little more subtle or transparent?
Imagine now breathing in the color of your intention,
Breathing in that color to fill up your belly,
Your ribs and your chest.
Deep breath in and as you let breath go,
You feel like your torso is full of a color of your intention.
Continue to breathe in and draw more of a color into your body and as you do it starts to fill up your whole body,
Spreading down to the pelvis and the upper legs.
And another breath in sweeps a color all the way down to your toes.
Filling up your arms on the next inhale all the way to your fingertips.
Your next breath in draws in even more of a color filling you all the way up to the top of your head so that your whole body is full of this color and the energy you're embodying.
Repeat your I am statement again to yourself as you breathe easily.
You are so full of this intention and the color of this energy that your physical body cannot contain it all and you sense that this color not only fills you but the space immediately around you.
Now relax as if bathing in the color of your intention and repeat your I am statement again to yourself.
Remember everything you need to embody this intention is already within you.
If you need a little longer to relax take out your earphones or press pause.
If you're ready to move into the rest of your day start to become more aware of the space that you're in.
Begin little movements in your fingers and your toes and gently rock your head from side to side.
Take a deep breath in and stretch out while you do and sigh that breath out.
If you're lying down bend your knees and roll to your side.
Please make your way back up to a seated position.
Place your hands together in a prayer position or namaskar in front of your chest and pause there for a moment.
One more time please remind yourself of your intention,
Your resolve and the color of your resolve that's both within you and all around you.
Relax your shoulders.
Turn up the corners of your mouth just a little and remind yourself you can do this.
Take a breath in and let it go.
May you be happy,
May you be healthy,
May you feel safe,
May you be peaceful.
Wishing you a wonderful day.
Namaste.
