In this meditation we will connect with the gifts of the coyote.

Every animal is a guide,

A teacher,

A healer.

You can access their wisdom when you align yourself and become one with the spirit of that animal.

In seeing the value of animals as great teachers we are honoring them.

The animals allow us to return to a time and place where we once were deeply connected,

Grounded and rooted with Mother Earth and all of her creations.

We can once again become interwoven and in harmony with the universe through the animals.

The wisdom from the animals becomes part of the fiber of our being and we move around differently in our worlds.

Their energy can empower,

Strengthen,

Ground and heal us.

In turn we heal ourselves,

Those around us and the earth.

You can allow yourself to get comfortable now,

Lying down and nestling into your space.

As your body begins to become aware that you are slowing down,

You can go ahead and close your eyes,

Taking a few long full deep breaths.

Just inhaling and exhaling and with each exhale letting go just a little bit more,

Slowing down,

Letting thoughts of external things just fall away.

And as they do,

A warm golden light of protection surrounds your whole body now,

Allowing you to feel held,

Comforted and safe.

You can let go of any tension or tightness in your body that you might have been holding on to.

And as your body sinks a little further down into the support of the surface beneath you,

Feel held and you begin to melt.

Taking a moment now to notice your breathing,

Inhaling deeply and exhaling completely,

Relaxing your toes,

Your feet,

Your legs,

Your fingers and hands,

Your arms,

Your pelvis,

Releasing your back and dropping your shoulders down,

Relaxing your neck and your head,

Letting your eyelids get heavier,

Slowing down,

Turning inward,

Letting go.

And now imagine it's early morning and you are out for a walk on a hiking trail before the heat of the day sets in.

The temperature of the air on your skin signals that it's warming up.

There's one moment there's a slight chill and the next a gentle breeze sweetly offers a hint of warmth,

Like a little preview of what's to come.

The long,

Flat and wide dirt trail is a familiar one.

You've been here many times.

It leads out into the hills and goes on for miles and miles with many options for discovery branching off into other directions.

You make your first choice and decide on a nice big loop that takes you out to a sweet spot with a tree you enjoy visiting and spending time with.

It was calling to you today and you love to follow your inner guidance and curiosity to see where it will lead you.

The surrounding hillside looks like a dreamscape,

The wildflowers are in bloom,

And there are waves upon waves that turn into an infinite sea of gold,

Purple,

Wildflower,

Wispy,

Blonde wheatgrass.

They all sway harmoniously in the rolling breeze.

The feeling of joy and sweetness fills your heart as you take it all in.

You walk on,

Feeling the stones you step on move under your shoes and the sound of your feet hitting the earth connects you more deeply to her with each step.

Butterflies join you for fleeting moments of interaction as they flutter around you.

Maybe the white butterfly tells you that it is a loved one who has passed.

Do you find comfort in their presence?

You are not alone.

You notice the birds singing so freely and happily and you look up into the branches of the giant oaks that line the trail to see who is calling to you.

A pretty little finch musically tweets,

A few large black crows call a warning,

And there is a sharp cry from above the trees that is a hawk circling the area.

There is even a silly woodpecker working on the bark of the tree up ahead.

You recognize the tapping sound and smile.

The ground squirrels chirp a warning of your arrival and bunnies scurry deeper into the brush as you pass by.

It is so peaceful and you can feel the stress melting away from you as you leave your world behind and enter more deeply into this magical place.

You have stepped through a portal.

You are using all of your senses and you feel different in your body.

Your mind is quiet.

You feel illuminated and alive.

You take a really big inhale of the crisp fresh air and hold it,

Savoring it for a moment,

And then exhale with a huge sigh of relief.

You have stopped your walk now as you have reached your favorite tree and resting spot.

You greet the tree with a smile and a wave and its branches and leaves move with the breeze greeting you and waving back.

You have a seat at the base of the tree,

Resting up against it.

It is so peaceful.

It feels like home.

You hear a rustling in the brush nearby.

There is a shape off in the distance and it is moving and there are more shapes behind it.

You quickly realize it is a lone coyote and she is crossing over the trail towards you.

She sees you and is not afraid.

She pauses for a moment frozen in step and takes you in.

Sensing it is okay to proceed,

She walks closer to you.

She is now standing only a few feet away from you.

Sensing that you are safe,

You welcome her to come closer by softening the energy in your body and she walks a few steps toward you.

A feeling of awe and wonder come over you and you bring your gaze to meet her piercing golden yellow eyes.

Your eyes lock,

Your hearts connect and you are mesmerized.

Immediately you fall into a dream state.

Suddenly your perspective is changed.

You find yourself walking as a coyote.

She brings you to her pack who are waiting in the bush.

They greet you as a new family member with yips and howls.

Immediately you feel at home and at one with them.

Your body is stealthy and muscular.

Your ears tall and pointed.

Your muzzle is long and narrow filled with large long teeth.

Your nose is black.

Your tail is long and bushy.

You are covered in coarse grayish brown and golden brown fur with soft white fur on your underbelly.

Black markings run throughout your coat creating warrior like markings.

It feels powerful and beautiful to wear this new coat.

There is a lot of activity and before you even have a second to take it in,

You are pounced on by another coyote who wants to play.

You end up rolling down a hill.

All of a sudden you feel silly and kind of crazy and it's fun.

Getting up you briskly shake off the dirt and dust.

It's time to move and you follow along.

Breaking off from the pack with your new friend it's time for an adventure.

Stalking and pouncing prey.

Easily slithering under a fence.

Weaving around trees and fallen branches.

You cover a great distance with your low key trot.

You could go on for miles.

It feels so effortless.

You are able to jump several feet high and you try it out over a fence.

You immediately notice you are aware of everything and all of your senses are on high alert.

Stopping for a moment you come to rest under a tree.

You sit on your hind end and then fully lay down belly on the ground.

Extending your front legs out and resting your head down upon them.

It feels so good to lie upon the earth this way.

You love to sleep.

You can do this for up to 12 hours a day.

And so you fall asleep for a short while.

Dreaming vividly of hunting,

Finding your one true love for life.

Having lots of babies with your mate and feeding and protecting your family.

And then you are awakened by the calls of your coyote pack and you use your new voice to answer back.

Singing the coyote song with all of your heart.

The song of your ancestors.

It carries on for quite some time and you feel a deep kinship and loyalty in your bones.

You can't wait to return to them.

And you are up and off again.

This time sprinting at high speed of almost 40 miles an hour.

Your hind end is a powerful engine fueling your back legs and pushing you forward as your front legs fully extend.

You cover great amounts of ground in no time at all.

You're empowered by the wind rushing past you.

Your mouth wide open taking in air as you go.

Your paws bouncing off the terrain and propelling you forward.

You run through the water,

Jump over logs and head clear across the trails,

The hillside with your companion by your side.

It's as if you are flying and you feel completely wild and free.

The coyote is a trickster and also a teacher.

The coyote symbolizes a smile and a song acting as a gentle reminder that laughter is truly good medicine.

Coyote can be both playful and wise.

There is a balance in between.

Coyote teaches you to laugh at your mistakes and then use them as teachable moments.

This can be incredibly healing.

Coyote says sometimes you can play it safe,

Other times it's okay to take a leap of faith into something new and challenging.

Coyote also asks us to embrace the unexpected,

To release what you cannot control with joy,

To try not to take life so seriously.

Invoke Coyote Medicine to turn the negative into a positive in any situation.

You now have the wildness of the Coyote energy inside you.

Having received and embodied these insights and teachings,

You slow down and stop to rest back with your Coyote family.

Your fur glistening with sweat,

Your mouth open and panting,

Your whole body moving with your breath,

Slowing down.

It is time for you to return to your body now.

And you find yourself once again standing in front of your Coyote guide,

Facing her.

The Coyote offers her spiritual gifts,

Teachings and lessons for you to carry with you for all time.

She gives to you playfulness,

Adaptability,

Cleverness,

Loyalty,

Paradox,

Wisdom.

You thank the Coyote for her gifts and your time together.

And you re-inhabit your body,

The trail,

And then back to the present moment and space where you are lying down,

Noticing any sounds around you,

Feeling the support of the surface beneath you.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

Take a stretch.

Breathing in and breathing out,

You are fully back in your own body now,

In this present moment having shared a most magical journey with the Coyote.

May you move with playful lightheartedness into your day with the gifts of the Coyote alive in every cell and every fiber of your being.

Coyote has been my Spirit Animal Guide since I was a child. The encounters have been many and very profound. I truly enjoyed this session! Namaste 🐺

Thank you so much, Pamela! I decided to follow my intuitive nudge to search on the insight timer to check if there was anything about coyote(s) as spirit animal(s) after seeing two of them while on a walk tonight. I wanted to stay safe and moved away from them as I kept walking but one of them kept looking at me for quite a long time as I kept checking once in a while in the back. As you can imagine it was very touching to hear the meditation, incl. the gazing. It was such a beautiful guidance, thank you for the gift(s). I will probably listen again yet already wanted to say thank you!
