Horse Spirit Animal

In this meditation we will connect with the gifts of the Horse. Every animal is a guide, a teacher and a healer. You can access their wisdom when you align yourself and become one with the animal. Here you will meet and embody the spirit of the horse through a detailed guided visualization to receive the gifts the horse has to offer you. These gifts are yours to keep for all time.

This meditation is in loving memory of my soulmate horse, Tuxedo.

Transcript

In this meditation,

We will connect with the gifts of the horse.

Every animal is a guide,

A teacher,

A healer.

You can access their wisdom when you align yourself and become one with the spirit of that animal.

In seeing the value of animals as great teachers,

We are honoring them.

And the animals allow us to return to a time and a place where we once were deeply connected,

Grounded,

And rooted with Mother Earth and all of her creations.

We can once again become interwoven and in harmony with the universe through the animals.

The wisdom from the animals becomes part of the fiber of our being and we move around differently in our worlds.

Their energy can empower,

Strengthen,

Ground,

And heal us.

In turn,

We heal ourselves,

Those around us,

The earth.

You can allow yourself to get comfortable now,

Lying down and nestling into your space.

As your body begins to become aware that you are slowing down,

You can close your eyes and take a few long,

Full,

Deep breaths.

Just inhaling and exhaling,

Letting go of any tension or tightness in your body.

Relaxing your feet,

Your legs,

Releasing your back.

You can let go of any tension or tightness in your body.

Relaxing your feet,

Your legs,

Releasing your back.

Relaxing your hands and your arms.

Dropping your shoulders down,

Releasing the weight of the world off of them.

Relaxing your neck and your head.

Letting your eyelids get a little heavier.

Slowing down,

Turning inward,

Letting go.

Now imagine that you are standing in a valley surrounded by layers of rolling hills that rise up in front of you.

They go on for miles and miles,

And in the distance you can see the purple haze of a mountain range behind them.

You notice many trees and some beautiful large formations of rocks dotting the golden hillside.

And above all this grandeur,

The sun begins to burn off the last layers of clouds to slowly reveal the light blue sky of morning.

It is breathtaking.

You spread your arms out wide to take it all in,

A big smile coming across your face as you tilt your head back,

Opening your chest and filling up your heart with all of nature's gifts.

You take a really big inhale of the crisp fresh air and hold it,

Savoring it for a moment,

And then exhale with a huge sigh of relief.

All of the stress has left your body now.

You feel illuminated and alive,

Bringing your awareness now to the ground that you are standing on.

You feel your feet deeply rooted into the ground beneath you.

The breeze is steadily blowing through your hair.

Do you hear the cries of the hawks as they circle over your head?

The wind picks up and leaves swirl and rustle all around.

The energy has shifted.

There is a shape off in the distance and it is moving and there are more shapes behind it.

Dust rises up from the earth in a wake behind what you now realize is a band of horses galloping in your direction.

Your heart begins to beat quickly in time with the thundering hooves and you feel excitement running through your veins as you stand firmly planted where you are.

And wait!

At the front of the herd is a breathtakingly magnificent black horse whose presence has the energy of a king and he comes to a stop in front of you.

The other horses stop behind him.

He is now standing only a few feet away from you.

Sensing that you are safe,

You welcome him to come closer by softening,

Relaxing the energy of your body.

He walks a few steps towards you,

Lowering his head to meet yours and you are face to face,

Almost touching.

You can feel the warm breath coming from his nostrils as he breathes you in and you lean in to breathe with him,

Understanding that this is how horses greet each other.

As the air comes out of his nostrils and you inhale it,

Taking it all in,

Filling your nose and your lungs,

Your whole body vibrates with powerful horse energy.

A feeling of awe and wonder come over you and you bring your gaze to meet his.

Your eyes lock and your hearts connect.

You are mesmerized by his soft brown eyes and immediately you fall into a dream state.

Suddenly your perspective is changed and you find yourself walking with the herd.

As a horse,

Your body is enormous as you now weigh about 1200 pounds,

But with four muscular long legs and solid hooves,

You are well supported.

It takes a moment to understand how your vision works as your eyes now are on the side of your head,

But with just a subtle turn,

You are able to focus on your surroundings and see into the distance with great detail.

Your ears move around without you having to turn your head and you are very sensitive to sound and vibration.

Your head is very large and you have big powerful teeth.

You stretch your long neck down to the ground,

Tasting the dewy grass beneath your feet.

You have a coat of thick hair and it holds the warmth of the sun that shines down on you.

You have a luxurious forelock,

Mane and tail and you swish and toss them around to keep the flies off of you.

And also because you can.

You are aware of every movement around you.

Your ability to sense energy far and wide is heightened.

You take in the landscape and the herd around you using all of your new senses and abilities.

It is a brisk morning and you feel invigorated.

Your neck stretches upward and you forcefully blow air out of your nostrils like a dragon.

And many of the other horses do the same and it starts the energy moving.

There is biting,

Nipping,

Rearing up on hind legs and bucking as the herd launches into full on horseplay.

You call out with your voice,

Now a loud whinny,

And take off galloping.

And the herd follows at full speed with manes and tails wildly whipping in the wind.

Your hind end is a powerful engine fueling your back legs and pushing you forward.

As your front legs fully extend at each stride,

You cover great amounts of ground in no time at all.

And you are empowered by the sound of your hooves pounding the earth.

You run through water,

Jump over logs and head clear across the hillside.

It is as if you are flying and you feel completely free.

The horse symbolizes freedom and power and releases you from all perceived limitations so that you can step into your innate ability to lead your life with empowered confidence.

The horse shows you that you can overcome any and all obstacles with ease and grace.

The horse helps you to be fully present with great awareness.

The horse spirit reminds you to take care of your physical,

Emotional,

Mental and spiritual well-being.

The horse tells you that true power is wisdom found in remembering the whole journey and sharing and sharing your gifts with compassion,

Caring,

Loving and authenticity are gateways to power.

You are free now as the fullest expression of your soul as was intended for you to be.

Having received and embodied these insights and teachings,

You slow down and stop to rest and the herd joins you.

Your coat is now foaming with sweat,

Your nostrils flared,

Your whole body moving with your breath.

You're slowing down now.

It is time for you to return to your own body now and you find yourself once again standing in front of the horse,

Facing him.

The horse offers his spiritual gifts,

Teachings,

Lessons for you to carry with you for all time he gives to you.

Freedom,

Power,

Strength,

Endurance,

Nobleness,

Generosity,

Leadership and independence.

You thank the horse for his gifts and your time together and you are transported back to the base of the hillside,

Back to your space where you are lying down.

You are fully back in your own body now in this present moment,

Having shared a most magical journey with the horse.

May you move with power and freedom in your day with the gifts of the horse alive in every cell and every fiber of your being.
