Explore MeditationMarlies is a yoga teacher, mindfulness trainer and yoga therapist based in the Netherlands. She is the founder of Yoga Academy You are the Buddha, located in the train station of Breda. Her approach is rooted in softness, self-awareness, and breath-based practices. Marlies is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy at Vivekananda Yoga University (VAYU). She has developed specialized mindfulness and yoga therapy programs for people with Long COVID and chronic fatigue, focusing on gentle nervous system regulation and breath recovery. In 2023, she presented her work internationally at the Symposium on Yoga Research (SYR) in the United States, and in 2024 she was invited to offer yoga therapy sessions during the Olympic Games in Paris. Her guidance supports those in recovery from illness, burnout or sensory overload, using body-based mindfulness, therapeutic yoga nidra and healing presence. Marlies’s work is grounded in scientific insight and deep compassion. Her meditations are gentle, spacious, and accessible to people with low energy or high sensitivity.
