Welcome.
Take a moment to get into a comfortable position.
Today's meditation is short and sweet.
Oftentimes we carry around a lot of baggage,
Whether it's stress from work,
Responsibilities,
Negative thought patterns,
To-do lists.
This is a meditation for letting go,
Which will allow us to unburden ourselves from this baggage and by doing so begin this process of releasing tension.
This meditation uses a bit of guided visualization,
Which is a really powerful tool in transformation.
As you find your way into a comfortable seat,
Close your eyes,
Relax your shoulders,
And become aware of yourself resting in this space.
Allow yourself to fully arrive here.
Sometimes our physical bodies are here,
But the mind is elsewhere,
So take a moment to bring your mind right here with your body into the same place.
Breathing in and breathing out.
This is your space right here in this present moment.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Bring your mind from wandering into the future,
Wandering into the past,
And bring it right here now,
This sacred space.
This sacred space is your waking space,
Where you are free from all responsibilities and free from all pressure.
Imagine now that nothing exists outside of this space.
In here you hold no external titles.
In this space you hold no pressures that come with these titles.
In this space nobody needs anything from you.
There is no emails to answer,
No phone calls to make,
No people to look after or jobs to be done.
Here in this space,
In this breath,
You can rest in the freedom of just being you.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Imagine placing anything that happens outside of this space into a box.
Let's place our chores for the rest of your day into this box.
Let's place the stresses into this box.
Let's place the grievances and the shopping lists into this box.
Let's also put our desires in there,
Our goals,
Our motivations.
Put them all away.
Put the steam that powers your engines towards the targets you've set for yourself in this box.
Place all your pressures,
Whether they are small or big or positive or negative into this box.
The thoughts that wake you in the middle of the night,
That manic energy that drives you down the road to your greatest fullest self,
Put it all into a box.
When you have laid them all to rest in this box,
Set the lid down.
Let's wrap it up in a ribbon and just leave it right outside your space.
Tie it up neatly.
Place it there just outside the door.
It's there for you when you leave.
Breathe in and breathe out and rest in the space that's left behind.
Breathing in,
You are perfect just as you are in this present moment.
Breathing out,
Accepting yourself fully in this precious moment.
Breathing in,
Allowing the body and the mind to adjust to this space.
Maybe the shoulders sinking a little deeper.
The jaw relaxes further,
The belly can relax and expand a little bit further.
How does this precious gift of space feel when it's held only for you?
You are noticing your breath.
Take a long soft inhale into this space and exhale.
Know that you can return to this space anytime you need.
As you begin to bring yourself out of your meditation,
Remember to pick up the boxes that you left outside.
Maybe you leave behind anything that seems too heavy to carry right now.
