A lot of us do this work,
This very hard work,
To get better and to heal.
We may want to move through it and get over it as quickly as possible.
When we find ourselves wanting to move through the process of healing our sexual shame at lightning speed,
Know that it can be helpful to remind yourself of the time it took to craft the wonder that you are.
This practice involves techniques of deeper body exploration.
When we explore the body,
Our past experiences may come forward and feel very present.
Throughout this practice,
I welcome you to find an anchor.
This is something you can hold on to if you find yourself becoming overwhelmed.
You can return to your breath,
Open your eyes and look around,
Hold on to a soothing item,
Or tune into a smell.
Whatever can ground you here.
In today's practice,
You can choose to be lying down,
Preferably on your back,
Or sitting upright with your legs crossed or feet on the floor.
Once you've found comfort,
Eyes could be open here,
Noticing the space surrounding your body.
And now dropping the body into the surface beneath you,
Allowing your body to be completely supported.
Let gravity drop your shoulders,
The arms,
And the legs.
We'll bring in a deep inhale through the nose,
Feel the belly rise and the chest expand.
And an exhale sinking deeper.
Another inhale,
The body rises.
And taking a long out-breath.
One more,
Just like this.
Inhaling,
The body will rise and grow.
And we exhale long and slow.
Letting the breath return to its given pace.
And now tuning into any sensations along your body.
How is the body today?
Traveling deeper into the layers of the body.
Moving into how you're feeling.
The emotional body.
And if at any time you find that your mind has wandered outside of the room,
Try and guide it back into the body.
And now I welcome you to find an area that is tense in the body,
And without bringing any stories or judgment,
Just let it be.
Just breathe into this space.
Directing your next few gentle and tender breaths here.
Finding ease in this area of the body.
And maybe you notice a slight change,
An opening of sorts,
Like tension melting away.
With this opening,
This opportunity,
Can you tell this area,
I love you.
Thank you.
It may be uncomfortable to explore the body this way.
But your body needs your attention and care.
And if it's too overwhelming,
Find that anchor.
Sounds,
Smell,
And touch.
And come back when you're ready.
And when you're ready,
See if you can find another area of tension in your body.
And gently breathe into the space.
And when you've noticed some tension melting away,
Telling this area,
I love you.
Thank you.
I love you.
Thank you.
Noticing what lies underneath the tension.
Ease,
Spaciousness,
Softness.
What lies beneath the guard we put up.
A wanting,
An opening to be loved and appreciated.
Gently letting go of this technique.
And bringing in a deep breath through the nose.
And on the exhale,
Letting something go.
Feeling into the space above you.
The space beside you.
And gently reopening your eyes if they were closed.
Taking a gentle stretch.
And just being with your body here.
Our bodies carry many wisdoms.
By taking time to welcome,
Befriend,
And explore the body,
We move closer to healing our relationship to our sexuality.
As you continue on with your day,
I welcome you to simply notice when you're feeling tension in your body.
Pick an area and breathe into it.
Then once you feel some tension melt,
Tell this area,
I love you.
Thank you.
And notice how you feel.
Take good care.
And I'll see you in Meditation 3.
