NeuroMeditation practices are meditations based in neuroscience. Open Heart styles involve actively engaging a positive emotion and then doing something with that energy, such as sending it to a loved one, or yourself. In this meditation you are guided to activate feelings of kindness, love, and compassion and directing these feelings through the heart center and out toward others. These practices can be helpful for reducing negativity and developing self-compassion.

Begin this meditation,

Finding a posture that allows you to feel alert yet relaxed.

Make sure your chest is not collapsed and you can breathe easily and naturally.

Spend a few moments relaxing the body,

Noticing areas of tension and inviting them to relax just a little bit more.

Put a slight grin on your face.

So slight,

Someone looking at you may not even notice.

Observe how this slight grin relaxes the muscles of the face.

Sinking further into your posture,

Tune in to a memory of a time you felt content and at peace.

Allow this feeling to fill your heart.

Your heart is filled with peace,

Joy,

And ease.

And maintaining that feeling in your heart,

Imagine a brilliant white light shining down from above.

Bathing your body,

Mind,

And spirit with feelings of love and peace.

Imagine this energy moving into the body through the crown of the head and moving down to the heart.

Feel the heart expanding with warmth and love.

Allow these warm,

Peaceful feelings to completely fill the heart.

And now visualize yourself as a channel for this loving energy.

Allow it to move through your body,

Through your heart.

Gently send these loving,

Peaceful vibrations out of your heart toward others.

First,

Send this radiant,

White,

Loving energy to family members.

See them clearly in your mind's eye and feel the peace,

Joy,

And serenity moving through you toward them.

Imagine them absorbing this energy.

Imagine this loving,

Peaceful energy filling each family member's heart.

Notice what it feels like to share these deep feelings of love,

Kindness,

And compassion.

Now imagine others in your life.

Coworkers,

Friends.

Send the loving,

Peaceful energy toward them.

Imagine them absorbing this energy,

Soaking it into every cell of their body.

Imagine the energy filling the entirety of their being.

Notice the feeling in your own body,

The feelings of love,

Caring,

And joy filling your heart.

Are you smiling?

Now send this energy out to your town.

Send this energy out to your state.

Imagine this energy extending out to the entire country.

Send this loving energy out in all directions to all beings.

Notice if you can feel the connection to all of the other souls you are touching.

Now allow the energy to settle back in your heart.

A gentle,

Loving,

Easy presence.

Stay with that feeling.

Stay with the heart.

Continue breathing gently,

Easily,

And naturally.

And as you return to being grounded in the body,

Feeling the entirety of the body,

Set the intention to keep this feeling of peace,

Joy,

And bliss with you throughout the rest of this day.
